Crossplay

Aftering reading the 2v2 x play topic, I was wondering if there is any data or evidence to suggest that pc gives an advantage over consoles?

My gut feeling is no, using a controller I can get around the map quickly enough.

I know that the developers have access to platform spesific win rates, but I don’t know if they’d like to share it.

Though I’d assume PC has an advantage, don’t know how big of one.

I played on Xbox until hw went cross platform. And now with pc I will not go back to console. However I still use a controller because that’s how I grew up. Anyways it has no lag at all and that’s my benefit. Crystal clear connection

Well PC has more hotkeys and maybe able to manipulate groups better. Also I think PC is able to jump around the map by clicking on the mini map so I think they have a slight advantage.

I haven’t looked at the stats recently, but it was very close last time I looked. In favor of PC slightly, but very close.

I have a gaming rig, though not a top end gaming rig. I have been testing Halo Wars 2 on both console and PC. I only prefer console because my gaming rig is close to a budget PC, so the console still plays smoother and looks quite nice.

As far as mouse and keyboard vs. controller, I prefer the controller over the mouse and keyboard interestingly enough. It is mainly because I haven’t practiced/adjusted to the hotkeys that are specific for Halo Wars 2, so I actually play better with a controller.

Hard to gauge how much of an advantage mouse and keyboard may have because it is based off of how proficient someone is with the mouse and keyboard. If nobody is proficient with a mouse and keyboard and “abuses” their device than it may never become a huge problem.

A week ago I was spamming Solo War and it didn’t seem like anyone I played against was even using a mouse and keyboard (though this can be very difficult to even tell based off of playing). Honestly, I believe that the PC playerbase is only a minority and that it isn’t really even effecting the competitive ladder that much. If anyone has evidence as to otherwise, please feel free to share.

Edit 1: Also, some PC players will use a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard.

Hey Gracie, is there a difference in Xbox and PC connection, or just yours? Do you have them connected the same way?
I’ve heard before that Xbox has more input lag, I always wondered it is an urban myth.

First know that all Pc are different and all Xbox that are the same version are the same. I can tell you my input lag is night and day vs a Scorpio. As in my pc has way less. The internet would be the same but your WiFi adapter would be the deciding factor on that. If you use WiFi. All in all yes there is a noticeable difference for connection/input lag.

I certainly notice lag on my xbox, not always but fairly regular. Worst one is when you input commands and screen freezes, if it doesnt dc then you get super speed for a few secs when it comes back to catch up. If you don’t really get that on pc then it would provide an advantage.

Does anyone else find their units are unresponsive when a forge starts dropping his bombs on your army?
