Crossplay Options - We do not want to play with PC

So I dont really understand this giant push for crossplay, especially being forced upon players. Anyone and everyone I play with for years DOES not want crossplay. We need to be able to turn off crossplay. We do not want to play quickplay with PC, we do not want to play ranked with PC. We DO NOT CARE about PC. M&K has no business playing with Controller. And NO ranked controller solo or duo does not pass for non crossplay ranked. Please give us this.

At the very least there needs to be a PC opt out for console users. Most people will happily take slightly longer to get into a game over getting handled by the inherent advantages of KBM.

very true. Even what Bungie did with Destiny 2 would be ok, I dont even like that die to the latency issue with ps against pc and xbox. But atleast then we are only playing with controller.

If you’re losing to PC on current build and settings you’re just -Yoink!-. Sorry.

Pc crossplay needs to be off by default and an option to opt in for the few that wanna play with them. For every game. There should never have to be a step to take to make the game balanced. Some people wont turn it off due to fear of longer queues, some wont even know they are playing against pc and just give up with the game. They are trying to build and keep healthy their pc playerbase at the cost of the console one. It will for sure turn away more people than bring in.

Don’t forget you can use KBM on Xbox and you can use a controller on PC. I play on PC more than I do console but for most Microsoft first party games on PC (Forza, Halo, Sea of Thieves) I use a controller.

If you wanted to segregate users wouldn’t it make more sense to do so via what input method they are using rather than the format?

Not really as we all know the hacks are on the way. Pc and console just dont mix. People on console are mostly playing on a big tv sitting back with a controller. People on Pc are using monitors sitting at a desk 3inch from the screen. They will lower their graphics settings for better visibilty and higher framerates. Even without the use of M&K they have an advantage and more options. One of those options is to completely ruin the game with cheats. One of the benefits to playing console in the 1st place is balance and fairness.

False M & K has different settings that you can not do on console and can be more precise. You can go back to any FPS and PC has an advantage and if you feel different then you clearly dont play games.

I also assume that when someone with more skill at aiming owns me that it is probably just a mkb player.

I understand what you are saying and i am aware. That would be more difficult for them to piece together. However i would agree with you. Either way, there needs to be a way to play without crossplay.

Some people on PC will be playing on minimum specs so I don’t think you can say that a PC player will always have superior visibility and higher framerates than a console player.

As for cheating, if someone is cheating in the game then that negatively impacts everyone they are playing against and cheat makers have been able to successfully make cheats for consoles. Surely the answer to the problem of cheating is robust anti-cheat and a good reporting system.

LMAO. MnK players are averaging 40-45% accuracy while controller are averaging close to 60% in the same lobby. This hasn’t just been my experience either. Tracking weqpons heavily favour inputs which use aim assist due to their 0ms response time. This is why MnK is, and will continue, to get dumpstered by console, so long as BR is (the only) starting weapon.

Oh gross I’m playing with console players? Yeah I agree shut that off I don’t want them in my game.

Halo is originally a console-only shooter. You must be a young fellow.

Well a monitor will always be better than a tv for gaming and maybe not every single pc player will have insane framerates but alot do that is the point of having a pc isnt it better performance. The point is the option is there which isnt on console.

With cheating/hacking ive played many different games over the years and ive not seen hacks or cheats or anything that directly effects my enjoyment of a game. If there are cheats on console they must be extremely rare or absolutely terrible. Soon as crossplay with pc comes along im seeing absolute obvious game destroying cheats like never before. Look at the state of warzone, unplayable. Hardware advantage, input advantage and game destroying cheats. If cheating could be eliminated from pc completely and strict input based matchmaking i wouldnt mind so much but i doubt it will ever go away and there will always be that “are they cheating” mindset playing against pc players.

PC has heavy advantage with the way aim assist is terrible on controller…so your comment is stupid and pointless

As a PC player, I find more people are just bad at aiming with KBM than console players are with an analog stick, because the skill gap of using a mouse is higher.

The skill gap is greater on MnK yes, however that isn’t contrary to what I’m saying.

Rotational aim assist provides the player with abilities that are beyond human limits. Even the best MnK players in the world do not have the reaction speed that aim assist software has, and it’s not even close.

The fair solution for all of us should be:

  1. by default, input-based match making for social and BTB (you can choose it already for ranked) - so the platform does not matter but the input, controller vs k&m
  2. in-game option to disable cross-play, for both Xbox and PC - I think especially of interest for players on Xbox One who cannot and don’t want to compete against PC players with the latest hardware running on 240 fps…

Furthermore, what will be the story once hackers and cheaters start to overrun Halo Infinite MP? I cannot believe that 343i will ignore Xbox players who would then be completely powerless and screwed…

How does anyone know they’re playing against a PC player or a console player?

I haven’t seen any way to check that yet; not saying there isn’t a way, but from all the complaints I’m assuming there is?

If there isn’t a way to check, then how does anyone here know if crossplay is the problem? Maybe you’re just getting bodied by some kid on his new xbox on controller?
