Crossplay Multiplayer, Repeated Disconnection

Background: I am on a PC trying to play social games with my friend on Console. I am able to play with PC and Console players just fine; however, when we try to play together, I am always dropped from the game during the map loading screen and issued a “Your connection was interrupted” error message (which counts towards banning me in multiplayer). My friend’s game continues to load and he is often able to join the game just fine.

I thought this may have been a Teredo tunneling issue; however, after making sure that driver was up to date and ensuring that my firewall would allow it and given the fact that I can play with PC and Console players in social games, I am at a loss for why I am unable to play with this one particular person.

Are there troubleshooting procedures (beyond those officially listed on the support.xbox.com site, which I have already tried) known to this forum or knowledge on how others have dealt with player-specific connection problems on multiplayer crossplay?

Just to tack on for reference:
OS: Windows 10 Home, Edition 20H2, OS Build 19042.867 (feature pack 120.2212.551.0)
Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Internet is via ethernet, and the tunnel adapter Teredo tunneling pseudo-interface has IP addresses populated
I have confirmed that the Xbox Game Bar is not causing interference, as I can’t play with this friend regardless of that application running.
Turning Relays on/off does not resolve the issue.
This problem started a month ago so while I do not think the recent season 6 update is to blame, I am having Steam validate local files.

Same issue, don’t think there is a fix for this, although if you start Googling, people have been disconnecting like this for a while now, so I’m unsure whether it was the previous update, or if some people are just not lucky enough to play any sort of multiplayer/coop.

Bump.

I do have a support ticket running, and I’ve been trying capturing the error on my system’s side by using Event Viewer.
Should they ever get back to me with a fix or troubleshooting steps that I haven’t tried before, I’ll add them here.

Many thanks! Here’s hoping!

I guess I should add, I tried inviting my friend to a party using Xbox Console Companion rather than XBox Game Bar and were were able to play one game together, but afterwards it went back to giving the connection interrupted error.
So while this wasn’t a lasting fix for me, hopefully it may fix some people’s problems.

I think maybe you lucky with a fluke there, I used Discord to chat with my brother on this, it really is random as to when it decides to kick you. I would disconnect about 3 - 4 times in a row, but obviously my brother doesn’t want to dc from the game otherwise he’ll get banned. I’ll search for a game and be lucky to get into one straight away! Immediately after the match when searching for another, the game will realise that I’ve previously disconnected for 4 games in a row and give me a 10 minute+ ban.

I found this today in the Steam forums, it’s not quite this issue (it’s the inability to connect to other players at all) but I thought I’d link it in case it helps:

I have yet to try it out, but it’s been 14 days since I got the “we have your ticket and will send troubleshooting steps as soon as possible” message, so (A) I’m not holding my breath on the support ticket and (B) I have started to look at related problem-solution posts to see if I can gleam anything from them.

I’ve been experiencing a lot more disconnects recently. What also happened while playing MCC Multiplayer was that my Xbox One Elite shut itself down twice. This never happened before.

So the new build did not resolve my issues. Moreover, I can now add that this problem persists even when I am playing with other PC players.
That said, I do not have this problem when playing 1v1 multiplayer not do I have this problem when playing Co-op.
Do custom games and social games play on different servers(?)–I’m trying to think why some online play is fine (custom 1v1 and co-op) whereas other online play (social games) is not.

Not a beneficial update:
Firefight, Co-op, and custom 1v1 matchmaking work
social games involving more than 2 players do not work

I noticed that most of the games I had been able to play at least once on were in my file-transfer library, so I tried going through all maps in Halo 4 in 1v0 custom online games so that the entire library would be in my file-transfer library, then trying match-making with games restricted to just Halo 4… it did not work. (me being able to play on those maps once → me having them saved in temp files) and not (me having them saved in temp files → be being able to play those maps sometimes).
