Crossplay is unacceptable and aim assist is nonexistant on console

I’m a console player and I agree that the crossplay is unacceptable.

Or, at least, non-negotiable crossplay is unacceptable.

But the pro/anti aim-assist discussion should not be a PC-vs-Xbox war. There are people on Xbox using mkb and there’s people on PC using controller.

As suggested in this thread, the aim assist on PC is of intermittent quality:
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/aim-assist-is-stronger-on-pc-than-on-xbox-with-video-proof/34180?replies_to_post_number=18
(in addition to being stronger in some cases, PC players have reported it randomly shuts off.

Also, the aiming doesn’t just feel weird because of the aim assist. There is also the non-negotiable aim acceleration and the performance-related aiming problems confirmed in last flight.

It is in literally everyone’s best interest for this to be solved. Let’s work together.

That’s either straight up not true, or the overwhelming majority of weapons individually had aim assist settings applied that aren’t great and override the reticule slow that’s supposed to exist

what do you think aim assist and reticle slow are exactly

Phrasing is a bit weird on that, but aim assist is two things. The larger colloquial term for everything, and the immediate “aim assisting” that helps move your reticule to an enemy or specific point. I’m talking about the second, as it really feels next to nonexistent and more like a bad 2000’s PS2 game using raw input. For reticule slow, the series standard of your reticule hits an enemy and is highlighted red it’ll slow by a percentage helping to act as a correction for over tracking a person and losing the target. I’ve had maybe a handful of times the reticule slow has worked, but an overwhelming majority where it doesn’t, regardless of weapons.

I only really play controller-PC myself (No, I’m not using a Playstation controller, don’t burn me alive.)

Anyway, your issue seems like it’s a framerate inconsistency. Usually when the frames dip, it makes my aim run around in a similar way. (For instance, the first Halo Infinite flight was like that for me, and things were not good.]

I also hate the stupid input wars people are doing as well. It’s two sides arguing for anti-consumer practices because one side says aim assist is cheating, and the other side says all keyboard users are hackers, and all sorts of nonsense. Not okay.

If it’s framerate consistency I have to wonder about his tv/monitor then. One X should be perfectly fine for Infinite

it feels less powerful because the movement itself is so fluid and faster than most halos, you can pull out of the aim assist bubble just by moving properly with strafes etc

That is straight up just not true, if your aiming assist is thrown off by basic walking then it’s awful

not walking, strafing. Crouching mid strafe. Jumping. Etc

Its designed to help you zero in on someone just walking normal speed, but once you sprint and slide and do things to move aggressively it pulls away from it. That’s a good thing.

Literally none of that is what I’m talking about. You can’t even physically aim while sprinting so that’s not even relevant here, but walking, (strafing if it’s angled) as you put it by saying moving, throwing off an aim is just an example of it being terrible. Add in the reticule slow being practically absent, the weird acceleration for when it does work, and you can start to see why the aim assist is not good like OP mentioned

You’re misreading me, I’m not talking about you sprinting, I’m talking about them. And strafing in a straight line is also not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about actual strafing like people have done in competitive halo for years. Back and forth really fast and unpredictably to throw off aim.

anytime I’d play social and see people in slayer with multiple perfect medals and accuracy higher than 60%, it’s hard for me to believe they’re not using a controller… on K&M Ranked, I am well on my way to Diamond 2, and I rarely if ever see people have, maybe, 1 perfect medal or 2 and it’s most likely from a shock rifle headshot rather than a BR, VK or Sidekick… Highest slayer accuracy i’ve had in ranked so far is 55% with a somewhat middling kill count…

in controller only ranked tho, it’s common to see way more perfect medals and people in their 50% and 60% accuracy ratings, which is utterly bonkers to me considering how stupid easy it is to cookie cut people when they spam strafe…

You either have a mouse plugged, your game is broken or you’re lying.

I have no mouse, my game is most likely bugged.

No I got what you were meaning, but it’s never thrown off aim all that badly before. The only exception would be a sprint into a crouch jump since it moves your hitbox while shrinking it simultaneously

The “evidence” ur refering to is biased. Ik the exact statistics you are talking about and it is skewed.

The accuracy statistics every PC player has been hiding behind is very easy to disprove. The reason Console players accuracy is higher is because PC players will shoot at people from insane distances to do tick damage that console players would never attempt. We have higher accuracy because we shoot from up close. As for ur other point I have gone and tested it and there is ZERO pull. Nothing. Aim assist is Non existent.

Your facts are skewed to favor PC crybabies.

The accuracy statistics you hide behind bc u can’t cope with ur lack of skill have been disproven multiple times

I’ve played both K&M and controller, aim assist makes it easy, if you are semi decent with a controller you can be way better than an average mouse and keyboard player. Facts are hate.

Aim assist is light but it’s there. I play on PC and when I practiced with controller, I was WAY more reliably winning BR/Pistol fights. Note, I haven’t consistently played an FPS with a controller in years and I was popping off (as long as I had a BR, still need practice lul). I just think player strafe speed is causing a lot of missed shots and people are misinterpreting it as “not enough AA” rather than “strafe acceleration is insane”.

I thoroughly & strongly disagree my friend… Find the reddit post of accuracy of controller VS MnK.
I will definitely tell you, aim assist exists, like allloootttt of aim assist on the controller. Hence why I plugged my controller in & gave up the MnK.

Plus input lag for PC/server desync is disgusting. keep playing controller
