ITT we talk about blaming our hardware instead of “gettin’ gud” regardless of what IRL skulls we have activated…
I feel like you just need to cool off a bit. If uninstalling helps, go for it. Play something else. I hear PowerWash sim is popping off.
Desync is a result of client miscommunication between Xbox and pc.
The series x build of the game is the most well optimized and so has unfair advantages
Desync is a connection based issue. Not a hardware issue.
I’m on PC and I play with my GF all the time on her Series X. These issues have nothing to do with hardware or crossplay because both of us are getting pissed at desync. Halo Infinite just isn’t an optimized game in general on any system.
Crossplay cannot be turned off !!!
Let’s face it anyone with a console would turn it off
If that happened it would split what already is a small amount of regular players.
This means long MM times which further reduces the population.
Everyone would turn crossplay off.
Console players think PC players have super-accurate aim, so the game is unfair.
PC players think the aim assist is so strong that it is an aimbot compared to PC.
Its like a miniature version of the console wars. For most people it is just an excuse to complain.
this miniature version of the console wars is the developers from the game’s own fault if there is no option to turn crossplay off from day one and keep thinking that force is the best way when its more asking for that type wars between PC and console community’s from that game more.
that everyone would turn of crossplay is something you need to accept and deal with that a big group will turn it off and that a lot off the console players will do that since there not trust the PC platform at all and thats something that nevers go’s away any more and keep staying for ever
stop spreading such utter dumb and wrong infos…
Isn’t dsync just Lag?
If it is, I don’t get why they need to try and change the term that has been used since the mid 90’s…
it’s not. just search it on YT.
Everything I’ve seen has been an established since symptom of lag in other games, for years now.
All I know is that it’s botching the game heavily. I would rather focus on the damage desync is doing instead of it’s name.
Lag deals more with the internet connection itself. Lag can correct itself so all systems get back on the same page. For example, Player 1 is telling the server it is going from point A to B. But the message is messed up, so the server and player doesn’t know what to do, once the message is cleared, they resume. Lag can cause desync, but the server will correct it once a stable connection is established.
Desync on the other hand is Player 1 is telling the server it is going from point A to B. Except the server thinks player 1 is 5ft ahead of where player 1 actually is. So when player 2 sees player 1 and kills him, from player 1’s perspective, he is still 5ft behind a wall. Or in a more egregious example (which my GF and I encountered a similar bug in co-op but other players have reported and have video of this.) Player 1 is going from point A to point B, but then player 1 decides to go to go from point A to point C instead. The server still thinks player is going to point B. So player 2 sees player 1 at point B and kills him. But to player 1, he is at point C and just dropped dead. The connection is still stable, but the message got messed up and the player is playing guess-work.
In co-op my GF was at one of the 4 beacons, but we hit desync. I was the host so the server relied on my perspective. To me she was at the bottom of the spire on the ground, but walking into walls and trees. But on her screen, she was at the top of the beacon looking down on me, but she was unable to interact with items or damage me. I could still damage her body on my screen even though on her screen she was nowhere near me, she was being damaged. Killing her solved the issue because it re-synced her player-side perspective and the server-side perspective.
So it isn’t lag because we were still connected and everything still happened in real time, but desync causes a “de-synchronization” between player perspective and server perspective. This is why hit-detection and being killed behind walls is an issue. You think you land a headshot, but server says you hit 10ft to the left of target. It feels like the game is lying to you when really its more like the game thinks you are lying to it. You can have the best ping in the world, but if the server itself can’t interpret where the player intends to go, then it doesn’t matter.
I don’t have this problem really on PC. Yes Desync needs to be worked on some more but honestly not as bad as Apex or No builds on Fortnite right now.
What does apex or fortnite have to do with what’s going on in Halo Infinite?
I have played every single possible version of the game, and the Series X version of the game runs like its on LAN.
The PC version runs like you’re in the middle of the ocean with a coconut for a router.
You said it perfectly. There is going to be desync across the game completely. Just have to accept it for what it is at this point. Although super frustrating for sure.
I was only trying to clarify. Doesn’t mean I accept it. 343 need to work more on fixing the issue.
Not much of a surprise that a closed ecosystem with homogenous hardware is better optimised… now does Cross play have anything to do with desync? Surely if it did why would they not have done this already? Why doesn’t Sea of Thieves have huge desync issues?
