You guys totally ruined the game by forcing crossplay on us. We console players don’t want to play against sorry PC players who have to hack the game because they suck at it so bad. Please put it back the way it was. I gave it an honest chance and it’s even worse than I expected. Thank you.
Lol, wut
Please explain how they are “hacking” the game?
Crossplay is what’s keeping this game alive.
Looking at your game history I think the problem is you
As a long time PC rts player I thought cross play was a horrific idea. I was wrong
I think crossplay will end up giving this game a very long lifespan. However I do think still cleaning up the controls for us console players a little bit would go along way in alieving this concern.

A little blunt, but correct. A lot of players prefer to look for excuses rather than, taking a step back, considering where they went wrong, and trying to improve in those areas.
This is a prime example of that.
Which game was hacked and how so we can look at it on your history and determine if it’s a knowledge problem or hack problem.
Okay im gonna systematically dismantle your argument to settle this once and for all:
1.) RTS games dont sustain their player base population for very long compared to other types of games because they are generally not regularly updated with new content. Halo Wars 2 had its 6 month DLC season plus Awakening the Nightmare, but there are no current plans to release anymore DLC content at the moment. In addition, the game caters to a very niche audience and from day 1 isnt going to have a relatively large following compared to say most AAA FPS games. The best way around this is to artificially increase the population playing your game (or rather that can find matches with each other), in the form of Crossplay. This allows the Halo Wars Community to last far longer than it would if there were two separate playing populations with the biggest advantage being much faster game matching and matchmaking in game modes that arn`t just based on Deathmatch.
2.) I purchased the Ultimate Edition of this game when it launched meaning I can and do play it on both my PC and Console and over the last year and a half I have never seen a single hacker in the game, and any strategy that I thought to be overpowered I also believed to be well and truly available through skill and good economy usage. I have also never seen a forum post claiming that there are “sorry PC players who have to hack the game” either. Perhaps you can clarify this by explaining what hacks they were using or submitting evidence such as gameplay (BTW im obviously against hackers, im just curious in that there might be some… or rather enough hackers to make you complain about the PC Population in general based on these hackers and the removal of crossplay).
3.) If your issue is not based on “hackers” disrupting your game experience, perhaps you should examine what you are doing because this game requires some level of skill and the evidence points to the conclusion that you are unique case in that no person has come forward before about hackers. As for crossplay, call me biased but it definitely improved matchmaking more than you believe it caused a detriment. Perhaps you can complain that a Keyboard and Mouse may result in some unjust ability to macro or have more specific control over your units, but I play 95% on PC and 5% on console, and for both I use an Xbox One Controller because they did a really good job of streamlining the crucial controls to the controller, and its what im used to since playing the first Halo Wars back in 2008. Im no recruit either, my friends and I regularly play Ranked 2v2 and 3v3 Crossplay and we`ve beaten most players we versed regardless of Console or PC.
4.) Final point, im sure the employees at 343 have stated many times that if you want change in the game, use argumentative logic… show evidence…convince us that your right. Blatantly saying things like “You guys totally ruined the game by forcing crossplay on us” might get our attention intially, but your gonna immediately lose it once we realize that your just squealing away without anything to back your claim up as well as superimposing what appears to be a very very very minor issue as a larger problem in the Halo Wars 2 PC community, and one significant enough to remove crossplay. By the way if your claim is correct, it is also as much of a detriment to the PC players as the Console ones so we would want that removed as well or perhaps you didn’t realize that.
Just some advice for any future posts you may have, and rain to your flame
yeah I never onece in my PC life on this game found a single 3 v 3 blitz match until cross play was enabled… now even at NIGHT midnight mountain time I can find a 3 v 3 blitz game if I wanted or I can go to VS AI for a quickie and bam a game is found within SECONDS vs’s how it use to be I would be LUCKY to even find a VS AI game in a matter of 15 minutes… it was horrific how bad the PC community died because of the 1st or 2nd month after release patch that came out and crashed all us PC players every game/mid game/ every second game CONSISTENTLY… im a PC player who will always use a controller because I don’t want my carpel tunnel becoming worse…
but ask your self are you FOR SURE you lost to a PC player? and are you FOR SURE he was using a mouse and keyboard? which if he was he probably cannot do that consistently without destroying his joints in his hands/wrists… and then finally how do you know your mistake of NOT scouting didn’t ruin the match and cost you? this is a strategy game that during American afternoon and night time is MOSTLY americans in which are not Chinese so we cant use a mouse and keyboard and do a 500 clicks a minute and crap… and even still from halo wars 1 their are some players/Chinese dudes you would THINK are cheating or using a mouse and keyboard (which is possible for console users) but really were not they were just that freak ing in sync with their game that they could move click with zero error or minimal…
A simple moving of a hero unit can change the tide of a battle or splitting a army at the right time… not just a PC vs Xbox… if you use your D-pad as your suppose to you can be fluid ENOUGH to WIN vs anyone with a steady team…
I’m pretty sure crossplay is one of the better decisions made for the game. More players to create more full matches and reduce waiting times (the longest I’ve had to wait since the last few updates is just 1 minute) is just more efficient and better for players. My only critique is that the PC teammates can type messages to the team and they display on a message board in the game, the problem is I can’t respond on that message system to say “your welcome” when I save them from an enemy task force and supply them enough to rebuild their army, or to say “thanks” for not leaving me to die.

That’s not true. Go to options -> controls -> controler layout (A) -> RB to “advanced controls”
It is RT + RS (click) [or LS (click)] to chat. I think the other one pulls up the chat window. The only annoying thing is you don’t see your sent messages, but I am told that they see it.
Practically though I don’t find this useful as the pace of most games is way to fast to be using the xbox keyboard – but you could reply “thx” pretty quick.
I think PC players have an advantage in speed. Especially when selecting units and clicking the mini-map. PC is undoubtedly the superior way to play this game. I’m on console and get slaughtered every time I play online, but I’m still relatively new, too.
That all being said…I’ll still whoop all your a$$es one day on my console.
Please don’t revive old topics thanks
