This is something that’s bothered me for the last few Halo games: the crosshair isn’t in the center of the screen. I watched the vidoc and noticed it’s still lowered in Halo 4. Does anyone know why they do this? It drives me crazy whenever I try to play multiplayer, eventually I get used to it, but it just seems like there is no good reason for it to be lowered.
Like i said in your other post, Mc normal carry is to look over the weapon, when you zoom in he puts it to his shoulder and looks through the sight, thus raising it.

That really doesn’t answer his question.
Unfinished game

This is my first thread. I guess I can see the logic behind this, but I would still like to see an option to center it at all times.
i heard somewhere that it gives you and extended view above your head for a “wider” view

That’s true, but it’s been like this since Halo 2, so it’s pretty safe to assume it will stay the same.

You didn’t read the post. Why have they done it in previous games as well?
OP I assume it has something to do with orientation. FPS games can cause motion sickness, so developers like to add lots of things that help these kind of gamers. Things like the gun moving up and down, FOV, screen shaking and many many more.
Now I can’t say for sure, but I assume it’s another one of these visual tricks.

Thanks for the first post and actually providing an interesting answer.
I just don’t understand why this would be the case, as tons of other games (including the original Halo and the anniversary) have it centered, and work just fine. (I don’t expect you to have the answer, just thinking out loud)
Completely agreed - this is bizarre and against standard FPS convention. What it really scares me about is that it could signify that Halo 4 shares the limited Field-of-View of Halo 2-3 & Reach (60 degrees) vs. the more standard and much better 90 degrees of Halo 1.
