Crossfire map layout is the worst breakout map layout i have seen.
you either fail to get the BR and go mid for nades or left onto catwalk, and get mowed down constantly in trades with the guy on their team with the BR who no doubt 100% camps tower every single game no matter who you play because you can see 75% of the map and have a BR over Pistol advantage, while almost untargetable with nades.
Or you have the other option of going right into the enclosed bit in which you either get a SMG trade or you get naded…
it really is a map with no thought process put into it i feel.
I don’t experience this issue you’re having on the map. Maybe go into custom game and practice throwing nades into the tower OR get your BR and go after their BR guy OR have two teammates gang up on him with pistol when he peaks out OR find another way.
Almost all of them are horrible cluttered messy designs. Altitude is by far the best. It makes a pretty good 1v1/2v2 map also.

if you know the map i am talking about, you would know you cant really nade the BR tower. and if you get into a position where you can, you will of already been taken out.
and there is one BR. the chances of you getting it is minimal and if you do get it, you have to come down from the tower to look to kill their camper on the tower, in hope no1 else sees you while shooting at him and trying to win a 1v1 with height deficit.
i guess the map wouldnt be as problematic with a team and communication, but when you are going in alone this map is terrible.

Here you go, Check it out and Thanks, I completely agree with you, I made a poll about it with links to you post here and to the pillar issue that over see’s the entire map. Your post is equal to mine i just create, LINKED ABOVE.

No, I completely agree with you on this, They either need to remove the tower completely or the pillar on the tower where they can hide behind. You have my Rifle, just shoot a friend request, be down to play anytime.
So this is going to be hit hard by critics with extreme views like “well if this map is gone you will complain about the others”. To this I say, exactly. ALL the maps are bad and slowly they need to be replaced because they have critical flaws that cannot be duct taped.
I personally enjoy all the breakout maps, but then again i play in a fireteam of 3-4 and we are usually co-ordinated enough to figure out if someone on the opposite team is tower camping we can get our BR guy to go and counter him.

True True, But its mainly this map that bites the bullet, The other maps I’ve always seen the enemy or both teams engage each other, Crossfire though, Nope. Camping like a little tree hugger the enemy is. The tower with a pillar to hide behind gives that player / camper the ability to over see the map and shoot enemy targets like fish in the barrel, the center of the map is a dip and the right or left side of the towers where the shotgun spawns has no cover, making it difficult to engage the enemy or land a shot on the camper. Like OF RUSSO said, you CANNOT NAD THE TOWER, the grenades bounce to much and radius would reach the camper. Ive went in in customs with friends to test all angles to take the tower camper out and your forced to climb up there a deal with him / her yourself.
Crossfire is actually my favorite map in breakout haha to each their own. I can’t stand the map with the hydra on one side, and the flag, dmr, and two promethian grenades on the other side.
Im not the biggest fan of crossfire, but if thats how you are playing it, you are doing it wrong. Ive helped 2 accounts get to champion in breakout, and 2 champions into the lower 100’s.
When playing on crossfire its a numbers game. Theres tons of ways to do it. Get a nade on shotgun ramp or inside house or blow up their frags with the br to get the game 3v4. Now they are pressed.
Keep one on br tower, one on pyramid, one in front of base door, and another can run back, and forth between nades keeping their br distracted. One will inevitably push through base and get hit by smg from the base door, and or nades/fire from nades or pyramid when hes retreating. 2v4
Br spawns at 55. 2 brs and two pistols vs 1 br and one pistol usually. Then they get pinched from base and shotgun, and mid.
Thats literally 1 of hundreds of scenarios that work.
Nades also spawn like every 20 seconds. Use them.

#pro strats
I agree with the weapon spawn tips, get your team to learn them especially for nades.

Theres just a ton of strategies on every map, and its best to know the most you can.
Heres one for the guy that doesnt like trident (dmr map)
Lets say dmr is to your left and hydra hall is too your right. All four teammates should go left one grabs br and one goes up the ramp towards flag by br. Let the other two guys worry about whats on the left. The guy on br ramp is going to lob a nade straight into hydra hall. You will have about one inch of clearance to land your nade to your left and right. This lands the nade exactly where someone is jetpacking before they get to the hydra hall where both teams meet.
Well guess what? You just got a hail marry really easy, and a clusterluck if the other team is real stupid. Grenade didnt kill them? No problem. Thruster over to the top of the hydra base because you are going there anyways. You have two options now. The guy who didnt get killed is sprinting to your flank (smg him, or grab the two new frags you just got) kill him or whatever. Then flank their team while your team is pushing through for a pinch. If someone managed to go bottom base just grab the flag and score it. You can also use the small ledge on top of hydra base to head glitch anyone on their ramp. There are literally hundreds of scenarios, to play off that basic strat but you get the idea. Hydra hall is basically useless to rush at start, its just a waste of nades when you can usually get 2 instead, and land one they cannot see.
