So we are getting visor cross core in August with the next drop pod little disappointed its not shaders to but can I hope that the month after will give us cross core shaders
Well it’s a start, and, at the very least, I can use Vandal on most of my Spartans now.
It makes sense that Armor Coatings are not going to be available yet.
Think of it this way.
Currently we have 5 Armor Cores with dozens of options for helmets, shoulders, gloves, and knee guards.
As the game gets older, we will have MORE Armor Cores and helmets, shoulders, gloves, and knee guards.
Imagine having to make a single texture look attractive on a dozen Armor Cores by the time Halo Infinite enters Season 5?
Not to mention having to tailor a unique asymmetrical coating originally made for the mkVII and make it cross core with the rakshasa. Both entirely different in terms of physical characteristics and texture.
MkVII has a very rubber/silicone like under suit texture with the armor being smooth and tailor made for the operator by the top companies.
Rakshasa has a very 1960s baggy space suit styled undershirt that is war torn and old. Along with armor plates retro-fit and built by the operator using nothing but power tools, stitching, and a couple screws. With a very bent and war torn texture to said plating.
So
All in all a large amount of Adjustments are to be made as say rakshasa lacks a lot of parts the mkVII has. So therefore they need to be clever and considerate of what they’re making and how to allow it to retain its original look.
It almost makes me wish I bought the glowing white visor from Tenrai to use on my other cores, but as far as I’ve read and been told, Fractures won’t cross-core even with other Fracture cores, so whatever I guess. I’ll just use the neon blue one instead cross-core, except on Fracture cores… Can you believe it’s almost been a full year, and this is all we got?
Assuming Coatings actually are custom fit textures instead of preset and prefit png shaders, throwing out the belief that they’re ripoff Destiny Shaders that should work on anything, then that’s entirely 343’s fault for taking the stupid route and manually texturing literally every core, helmet, and armor piece that a texture can apply to, and would explain the gray untextured attachments. Awful futureproofing. 10 years of manual texturing every new cosmetic across every new Coating is a horrible idea. I don’t want to believe that’s actually what they did, but I wouldn’t be shocked. That would also explain the enormous content delay and cross-core delay.
Unfortunately, this can’t be true, because modders, bots, and the Waypoint app have all shown that all armor and coatings work on literally anything, since the betas. This begs the question, what’s the problem? What’s the delay?
Did the drop pod for July even come yet?
There isn’t a July drop pod, it’s August one that’s next
why do people asume, that the cross core customization will apply to the customization already in the game and not just to upcoming items?
343 would have to explain this to people who for whatever reason bought some colours in the store twice already. and they are not refunding money for that, bc that would upset their real customers, the investors.
Because it would boost value to items that rotate in the shop that existed before Cross Core became a thing?
For example, I am willing to bet that players will be more willing to buy the Anubis pack simply for the reason that it can be applied to the Mark VII and Rakshasa and whatever other Armor Cores come out.
so… “monthly” drop pod was a flat out lie then. cool.
i’ll be glad to use visors across the different cores but. if they keep doling this out piecemeal it’s going to be a long annoying wait.
this is what i want to know
Answer -
To appear as if they are listening to the fans by purposefully holding back on the product and then updating it so that it looks as if they are accepting feedback.
We know better than that 343 Industries.
You don’t accept feedback.
Judging by the incredibly slow pace 343 works at, if we get cross core visors in August, we should get cross core coatings in September or October.
That’s obvious. Break the game, take time “fixing” it. Use this as an excuse for content delays. Stretch the milking drip feed tube as far as you can, and then tape another tube at the end of it. Cross-core works with the flip of a switch. They’re just manually procrastinating it I’m sure. Everyone believes the same. It’s not hard to go on YouTube and be spammed with recommended videos of people wearing cross-core in Campaign for the last 6 months. Come on 343. What’s the actual excuse?
I wish a bought a lot of the tenrai stuff. But I did unlock all the free items, (including all the challenges) I think the Athena’s mirror visor for rakshasa would be a great substitute. It glows as well.
Well they didn’t explicitly say only Visors. Visors could really just be one aspect… I would how that this whole time that they have been working on cross core that it didn’t take them this long to just make visors cross core
Unfortunate that the monthly drop pod didn’t come yet. Of course they did state before they start that they will try to get one out each month, but I didn’t know they would already postpone only the second one so soon.
It was targeted to be each month, not promised it would be each month, I know they trying to get them out each month but not gonna split hairs if some don’t meet the deadline, same as any business, it happens, especially when having staffing problems.
I take it as it comes, tortoise and the hare, much rather take a slower route to get a better result, might even end up with 2 drop pods in a month at some point, they did say they will drop stuff when it’s ready, not wait around, so it is what it is
If visors are the first thing to go cross core, then what about the visor that are very close in color? The obsidian visor for the MKV and Bell Toll for the MK VII are the same thing basically. How would that work out? Same color just a different name?
Even though they are very similar, they’re not the same. Bell toll is darker than Sansar obsidian. I don’t think ANY visor in this game is 100% the same as a visor with a different name on a different core.
And I think this will result in more unique visors. They don’t have to make a black visor for every single core. They can just make one and then continue with more unique visors. If Bell toll was made in a time where cross core visors was already a thing, I don’t think Sansar obsidian was ever made.
Just look at all the unique visors that are already datamined for the Mark VII core: https://cylix.guide/?coreType=ArmorCore&coreName=Mark-VII&coreSocket=Visors#cores Those will all become cross core, which is such a great thing!
Oh wow. Just the names of them give you an idea of whats to come.
In all honesty, I just want my MKV spartan to look like my Halo Reach one from back in the day. The MK VII in Infinite is the one I really want to sit down and mess with for a while. Having all the colors and armors to my disposal would really make my day. I’m the type of person that takes forever in character creation. I want a spartan that is mine, unique to me. I also love seeing what others have sat down and worked on. Just sucks now getting into a match and seeing two other players with the same stuff on. No creativity… Hopefully soon that changes
