Can we have cross play at launch? Cross play between xbox and pc users? At the very leasr, co-op campaign cross play between these two groups.
Alot of people will start to demand this when the game is released. Given the current game ecosystem, I am surprised more games do not have this built in by default. COD warzone has cross play between everything and I feel that this has increased the playability of the game. I also get to play with my Xbox friends/family. So that is a huge plus.
I understand that cheating on PC is much easier thrn console. So I understand if it takes time to implement cross play in multiplayer to mitigate cheaters. But I think that it is viable for co-op campaign.
If we’re worried about cheaters, let’s just enable crossplay for social first then ranked later if feasible. I know I have at least 3 friends who will buy infinite on PC IF they can play with their friends who stayed on xbox (they have all sold their xbox’s and have no intention of coming back).

Or have the ability to enable cross play so you can if you want to.
Yea just make it optional, if possible. A lot of my old school Halo buds have moved to pc after the 360 era, would be cool to have the ones still on xbox be able to play with them again.
Alas cross-play has been a controversial topic in many games. because some PC users do have advantages but that would be fine in campaign. It maybe wouldbe okay if in cross-play for multiplayer you have and that PC user had some what of the same stats.
I have a feeling that so long as PC players argue amongst themselves about controller vs keyboard+mouse input, crossplay will be a distant dream.

I think, when comparing Halo to other games with cross play, CoD definitely shouldn’t be anywhere near the list. CoD has crossplay and it is broken as all hell. Not in the sense that it doesn’t work, but more so in the sense that it’s terribly unbalanced. Controller players do not stand a chance against KB/M players, with or without aim assist. I don’t think Halo will be any different.
In fact, based solely on YT videos I’ve seen on the subject of controller vs KB/M in MCC, I can safely say that it’s already unbalanced as hell. I saw a video where UberNick was I guess trying to prove that the controller was superior to KB/M b/c of aim assist and only actually proved that aim assist helped when the KB/M player did not touch any power weapons/grenades and did not melee either. In the first round, when power weapons were still in play, he was able to stab a controller opponent who was out of range of his energy sword simply because he had his FOV sliders maxed out.
While I have no problem with Campaign/PVE crossplay, I don’t think PvP crossplay belongs anywhere near Halo. If they really NEED crossplay in Infinite, then make it optional. And please, don’t do what Paladins did where it tells you you’re playing against “gamepad” players or everyone on every platform. In the case of gamepad only crossplay, I still see FOV sliders as being an issue. When they can see me better than I can see them: That’s an advantage. When they’re able to see around corners because of their FOV: That’s an advantage.
If they add crossplay–and I’m sure they will–I want the option to be able to turn it off entirely. I want the option to be able to ONLY play with Xbox players when I’m on Xbox or ONLY play with PC players when I’m on PC.
Due to the amount of cheaters on PC on most games online…I’d rather it was optional so I can turn off PC cross-play for matchmaking, rather it was toggle-able to only X1 to XsX only cross-play.
I think full cross-play would be sort of fine when playing with friends in custom, campaign but not a fan of dealing with possible cheaters with aim bots ruining my fun online.

if they don’t have crossplay at launch they better have spiltscreen for pc because theres nothing better than having halo splitscreen
At the very least, I think it should be enabled in custom games
Yeah, I think that everyone here agrees that Crossplay is a good feature to have but it should be optional.
Like, only have it in social and even then, have it toggled in the settings menu if you want cross play on/off. Certainly have crossplay on for customs and campaign
I used COD because I wanted to use that as an example to illustrate that a major game company (which is debatable but lets not get off-topic) has placed in crossplay between all major systems (PC, Xbox, PS). If they can do, I don’t see why 343 can’t! I mean, MCC for PC literally already connects to XBL for the achievements. I understand that achievements and crossplay are two different things. But my main point is that the ground work is already there.
I have a hard time seeing why more games don’t have this enabled. There are so many that would benefit. ESO, Destiny 2, MCC. This should be a harder requirement for games that are launched on both PC and Xbox. There would be so much press if games released a feature like this. All you need to do is give the user an option if they want it or not.
No excuse for 1st party games to not have cross-play. I wish cross-play would the norm in all games and non cross-play was the exception.
Gears and sea of thieves were both cross platform play, I don’t see why Infinite wouldn’t be.
Got mixed feelings about cross-play. I think 343 should check Halo Master Chief Collection PC feedback and see how well they monitor it. That way they have a clear idea of how well they monitor PC for Halo Infinite. I like the idea of PC and Console players being together but I detest the idea of dealing with hackers

Yeah, hackers definitely ruin everything. For what? False bragging rights I guess???
Anyways, I think that that would be a reason for it to be optional. Like a settings optional or social only or even both. But at the very least, have it defaulted to on for campaign, Forge, and customs (and firefight if that will be in Halo 5).
I was a Xbox guy, until I converted to PC. But I have family that plays on xbox. I would like to play with them still but I can’t if there is not cross play
