Give us the choice of disabling cross-platform
I mean it’s a double edged sword. If they disable crossplay, PC pop will drop because console players won’t want to play with them.
If they leave it forced, PC pop will still drop because console players still don’t want to play with them and will move on to a different game.
It’s not even the cheating that bothers me really. I just don’t like how this game handles like absolute garbage compared to its predecessors. They’ve neutered controls and set so many unwarranted restrictions all for the sake of input parity that it feels almost foreign.
Yea, I’ve also noticed AA and Bullet Mag on Controllers are noticeably neutered, and that’s on a harsher level than H2.
Like sure, it’s not H4/H5’s level of aggressiveness but it’s too weak at the moment, or at least hella inconsistent, which is just not a good experience for Controller.
Modded controllers is a universal side console problem and not the fault of 343i…I’m not defending them but modded controllers are an issue for Microsoft and Sony to resolve not the game devs. Personally I don’t think they can do anything about modded controllers as they are so hard to detect, but anti cheat and crossplay are both software options that the game devs can do something about relatively “easily” in the grand scheme of things.
Yea this game feels.like is still just a beta test, with extremely restrictive features customization being one of the. It it’s purposely restrictive to push profits
Now by Modded controller what do you mean, cus I have the Halo Infinite elite series 2 controller. Would that be under the modded catagory
Yeah, I don’t see the game as “infested” with cheaters as a lot of others claim it to be, I still have yet to come across any blatant cheaters. I’ve come across only a handful that seemed suspiciously hyperaware of what’s going on, but nothing conclusive upon watching the theater perspective for those individuals. That’s not to say they don’t exist at all, as I have seen the hard evidence people have provided and because they’re a given in a F2P system since there’s no real punishment for cheating. The implementation of an Anti-Cheat will help a lot for those that have been coming across them though, even if just the slightest bit. As godawful as EasyAntiCheat is, I’d rather have that than the nothing at all we have right now.
There are people out there selling modded Elite Series 2 which has more capabilities than the norm, and one of the more prominent use is sticker AA.
Not to say that Infinite’s Controller AA inconsistency doesn’t need to be fixed, but such modded controllers exist, and that’s only one of the few functions it has. They have something known as “Turbo” as well. Up to you to guess what function that grants the player.
If. Y AA you mean Aim Assist yea I don’t. Use that in Halo. Mines turned off with controller.
Honestly.it more so gets in the way than helps
as a pc player, I sympathize with you, cheaters suck hard
so all the players that wane play social playlist’s and not wane play against pc players are force to have crossplay still with then if there like it or not?
here is something better add for both playlist’s a option to turn off/on crossplay.
so that all the players have a option and not only the players that only play ranked
I know the question was aimed at someone else, probably to make a point, but any OEM controller is legitimate.
It begs a different kinda question though: when does officially supported hardware/software/features become overtly unfairly advantageous?
No…because it’s not a modded controller.
I know my set up gives a quicker reaction possibly. I set the back paddles to be my X Y and Left d pad, mainly be ause it allows me to switch frags quicker than using the D pad.
Also my back triggers are set to the tightest setting so I don’t have to press down as much to fore or aim.
The joy sticks are set to tightest possible as well to get more instant reaction from movement.
Yep exactly. I’m definitely NOT trying to say that cheaters don’t exist. All online games have cheaters. It’s just part of the gig. I don’t think it’s as rampant as some would have us believe, but I’m not denying their existence.
I’m just trying to communicate that Crossplay is not the problem. Cheaters are the problem. And cheaters exist on every platform, console or otherwise. Anti-cheat is the way to combat that, not turning off Crossplay, which is a feature that we’ve wanted for a long time.
The peripheral discussion is irrelevant. One platform is significantly easier to modify than the other, and that’s the issue. If cross-platform was a selectable option instead of a requirement, this would be a non-issue.
And basic anti-cheat systems have rendered the problem to a non-issue as well.
If players want simply want Crossplay, they don’t need to result to a nuclear option to make their case.
and a lot off cummunety members have sadly ask that in the developing proses from the game to make crossplay a option and not force it.
but back then 4 years ago all the players that told that crossplay needs to become a option have been markt as a fool more by players that think back then it was a great idea to force it.
now 4 years later the fools from back then have it right and see what you now get its becoming something big and has blow up more.
edit: here are 2 old threads that give a lot off info that some communety members are not happy about it and suggest it a other way and have make it clear what the big risk’s are.

halo 2 had way too much aim assistance for my liking and one of the reasons I hated it soo much. Halo 3 beta was my favourite halo experience were automatic guns had their place.
