I try to keep up with the latest news on Halo: Infinite through various social media apps but I was curious if the next game in the series is going to be cross-gen. I hope it is as it would be beneficial for most families (mine being among them as my wife doesn’t do splitscreen).
It’d be nice if it was.
My roommate and I both love Halo but I use a PC and he an Xbox. It’d be amazing if we could pull a LASO campaign together.
I am pretty sure Xbox One(includes One X) and the new gen Xbox Series X(Project Scarlett) will be able to play multiplayer with each other. Whether or not we’ll be able to play PvP multiplayer with PC guys remains to be seen.
I think it would work good between console and pc, but if Microsoft gave up Halo to won’t then they wouldn’t have much to compete with the exclusives on ps5 besides gears and Forza. It would be great for us though as we could play with friends with PlayStations.

I’m not talking about cross-platform. I have no doubt that it will be given that it is going to be a simultaneous release. What I am talking about is cross-gen. By the end of the year the Xbox One will be classed as last generation and the Xbox Series X the current generation.
