You have to take into consideration that the forum does not represent the entire Halo community.
Critics don’t only look at gameplay, and don’t spent as much time as we do before writing their reviews.
Any posts on gameplay suggestions or weapon balance on the Forums? I bet none of it crossed the minds of any of the critics.
I’d rather read a well-written Forum post than a professional review.

In this context, that’s true, but the critics represent even less. An absolute minimum with limited playtime, actually.
And now that we’re talking about this, many of the better, more dedicated or longer-playing players do express themselves on Forums, whether they be these ones or others.
Theres a little problem with the community every time a new Halo game is released, you probably know what I mean…

vocal minority spams forums with things like “HALO 4 IS AN ATROCITY!!! THIS GAME WAS BETTER!!”
rest of the minority replies with that people with a total about 5 people agreeing, and the topic gets spammed with people disagreeing saying “halo 4 is a good game” etc

If you judged a Halo game by what the forums said about it, there hasn’t been a good Halo game since CE

If you judged any game by the forum no game would be good.
EVERY game forum has people who complain that the game is changing.
People on the BF forums complain BF3 isn’t BF2 and go to COD. People on COD forums complain BO2 isn’t BO1 and go to Halo. People on Halo forums complain Halo 4 isn’t like Halo 3 and go play something else.
It’s how life works. You get used to something and don’t like change.
The game is great. You forget most people weren’t hardcore Halo 2 players.
Critics play a lot of games and maybe there huge COD fans or maybe they absolutely LOVE GoW. But here and on bungie.net there are true Halo fans that are annoyed that their favorite series is going down the tubes.

Neither. 343 did a good job, but as in all things, both sides’ stances make up part of the truth. The fact is, there are a multitude of problems with Halo 4 on the multiplayer side that need to be addressed, and a few criticisms that you could make of its campaign and co-op offerings.
The people on the forums claiming that is an abomination of a Halo game or just a bad game in general are wrong, but just as much so as the people defending it unflinchingly. Overall, both sides just need to back off their positions and accept that not everything may be exactly how they want it, and the community needs to come to a consensus on what 343i should change, add or tune.
Not accusing anyone here, but it’s entirely possible someone could pay the critics to say good things. After all, corruption isn’t unheard of.
I found IGN’s review to be either very misleading or extremely optimistic; on Youtube, game reviewers delivered reviews that reflected the game much better, at least in my opinion.
Well I think they just need to brush up on some stuff.
I don’t give two -Yoink- what the forums think. They are the minority and a majority of the people here just come to vent because a better player whipped them in combat and they can’t handle it.
Well at a gameplay and story stance, this game is nearly perfect. But what people on the forums are complaining about is the lack of features that we have come to expect in a Halo game.

I have come to accept, that everyday I see the same person making the thread that is a complaint, and then the same people joining up in his thread attempting to derail the game and mislead any newcomers.
I see 2 of those same people in this thread, and those 2 are here everyday complaining and they simply hate it so much that no one really cares what they whine about anymore.
People complain due to nostalgia or just plain ignorance every time a new game of any series is released. Ever since Halo CE people have complained that each game after it was worse than the one before it. This is simply not true, Halo CE is plagued with issues, Halo 2 as well even though it was a fantastic game, and Halo 4 reminds me alot of it to be honest without Halo 2’s flaws.
When it comes down to it, overall Halo 3 and Halo 4 are the 2 games with the most potential as far as Multiplayer. Halo 4 simply expands on the things Bungie added in Halo Reach and does them better, while sticking to Halo 2/3 at its core with a completely overhauled engine and mechanics.
For a regular game, it’s great but for a Halo, it’s eh
