Critical Mass: Will We Hit It?

The game has been out for about a month and a half and it seems 343i is a brick wall in terms of communications. We have yet to hear anything in terms of balances and, statements and or anything really.

No personal talk whatsoever.

Now to put this in perspective, there is a thread in this section done by Time Glitch. With over 1,000 thanks and over 3,000 replies, I don’t believe any 343i employee has actually made any sort of response.

We apparently had a podcast with some of the issues brought to light, but it did not sound promising at all.

And my point is, do you think we will hit a critical mass, where everyone is fed up with the game to the point where we just leave. Because I’m nearly there for the mere fact 343i doesn’t even discuss what’s wrong with us.

We need a real Q & A with the Lead Multiplayer and Game Designers

We really do. I keep telling everyone, “wait to see what the TU2 has in store for us”. But really, I don’t know if 343i even is aware of what we really have problems with.

I know my thread is slightly biased, but still, I think we deserve some sort of bone here.

Please post constructive replies, I will be tweeting this to BS angel shortly.

-Edit- BS Angel replied to my tweet!

<mark>"@ReclaimerKen That sounds doable. I’ll check the calendar and see when it makes sense, timing-wise (January at the absolute earliest, FYI)."</mark>

If that’s really the case, we need to get our ducks in a row, question-wise

And also feel free to check my thread on the Warthog problems.

Yeah, well whatever the deal is I hope something changes.

Today is the first time since launch that the peak population for the day dropped below 100,000.

that would be nice of them wouldnt it? I honestly dont care all that much to be honest.

> that would be nice of them wouldnt it? I honestly dont care all that much to be honest.

Well, to me it feels like they’ve undermined their core players with all the changes and are basically saying, “It’s our game now so play it the way we want you to”.

Without taking our suggestions or opinions into consideration.

I feel like they should have an ongoing list of some sort for this tu2… to calm the public on some of the current issues, it might not meet all of are requirements of the die hard halo players… butt buttttttttt it would calm the chatter and kill the threads about certain things that people want to be changed so it wont be brought up in these threads again. Hopefully this tu2 can atleast do that about a couple of are concers, but i feel like they can atleast shine some light on these things so they can reduce the hate on their company

Not so much that as before even setting TU2 in place, actually officially ask for our feedback.

I thought they said in the last weekly update that they were going to talk about it in the next one i.e. today/tomorrow?

I have heard nor seen anything from them thus far that would make me think they give a yoink about the core fans. They removed so many classic features and replaced them with CoD ones in a sad cash grab and won’t even give us a classic playlist or change it in customs.

they said for another time… so from now till late january… cause were not getting a tu until this big usless tournament is over

i just want a 2v2 playlist which they promised the removal of insta spawns and static weapons… a stretch would be to make the br 4 shot to promote movement in the game… but they wont do that

Think things will pickup when some of 343i comes back from vacation. Around early January is my guess.

I too would like some responses from i343, and a Q&A with the multiplayer team.

I’m not that curious about why they did certain things, that’s overplayed and so on, I’m more curious about what they plan to do and if they even take the community’s feedback into consideration or if there’s some other force behind them that’s deciding what to do.

I mean, I’m not going to sit here and put out my suggestions for imrpovement if there’s some guy/woman in a suit behind a desk looking at numbers who tells them what to do. I’m putting some effort in trying to keep that thread afloat because I do believe that it’ll help the competition, but incase nothing is going to happen, I’ll just put my attention elsewhere, like my own game or school work.

I’m waiting to see some moderator lock this forum because it is starting to get to much attention. 343i has screwed customs community along with the competitive community. We’re all in the same “-Yoink- 343i” boat now. Don’t expect anything from 343i though. They don’t give a -Yoink-.

Good connection search. For goodness sake we need a good connection search. Not to make the game better or improved, we need it to make the bloody game playable for people outside of America.

It’s sickeningly needed

Hopefully after Christmas/New Years they will be more active within the community. Currently i think they’re just on break and don’t have enough staff to do major things yet. Big hopes for TU2 though.

I’d say it’s a waiting game till’ January now.

I admit my hopes are not to high, as their have been to many hiccups with this game to give my enough hope in 343i and MS’ ability to cater for what the majority want.

Even then, those who didn’t get what they want will complain, and then we’ll be back at the start…

Unless the title update in January is truly massive and all-encompassing, people are going to start abandoning ship in droves. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until then, but I refuse to continue beta testing this retail game. There are shooters on the PC that have been wildly popular with huge active user bases for YEARS, because their development teams respect the communities that line their coffers. 343 has an extremely seasoned fan base, some of us over a decade in, and we’re all getting shafted.

The bottom line is, they have to do something. The community that drives this franchise is getting tired of these constant letdowns, which are inexcusable for a game of this magnitude, with this kind of budget, and with so many phenomenal predecessors to draw ideas from.

Holey Mole-y, didn’t expect this many posts, and I left checking this to the end of the night… I will reply to all tomorrow in the morning. G’night all and thanks for replying, hope to hear from all of you again.

Well, strictly speaking it hasn’t dropped below 100k yet, wait until around midnight EST before that. Then check Halocharts.

But, to be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if it did drop below 100k considering yesterday it just managed 103k, at the end of the day I think they haven’t catered for the right crowd and continue to ignore the community at every turn, excluding a variety of regions (especially Europe) from their challenges, not sorting the connections with a simple ‘Good Connection’ search option and generally making a mess of things with new features such as the coin toss of a system that is Ordnance.

So there you go, I’m going to be on Halo 4 but only for when I’m required to be for my clan, apart from that, I’m sticking to Happy Wars, Battlefield 3 and Phantasy Star Online 2 (which I’d really recommend, English version’s being released in early 2013). Unless 343i releases a game-saving patch.

Until then, I’m out, take it easy Halo community, keep it clean and try not to complain too much about 343i, I think we’ve all seen we can’t expect too much from them. You might see me post from time to time but apart from that, I’m gone for now.

Later guys.
