Despite the forums negative view by people who have NOT played the maps and including myself, the trailers on youtube and waypoint do not it justice at all. This playlist is 10/10 BEST playlist on Halo 4 right now. You have the perfect mix of objective gamtypes, slayer rarely comes up and it’s so much fun.
I played 7 matches just now, 4 of them were CTF on 3 different maps, 2 were extraction matches and 1 slayer. It felt like Halo 2-3 days again. I seriously advise people to watch matches on youtube and think about purchasing the map pass, it was totally worth it.
I unlocked 2 more achievements as well, which felt great. 1 for geting the final blow on a Mantis, it felt very sweet. Do you really want to miss out on all the fun? The new maps are huge stratergy maps. Looks like I’ll be playing just this playlist until more DLC comes out.
To those not geting the map packs, SUCKERS! Only kidding but seriously have no idea on the kind of fun and thrills these maps bring. I really forgot I was playing Halo 4 and for 45 minutes, felt like I was playing Halo 2 again on my original Xbox. I just want to share my love and play time.

It’s not the best because there are only 3 maps in rotation. If you have the map pack, you can play the original maps and map pack maps (depending on the playlist) in any of the other playlists. It may be your opinion but I disagree with you.
I was wondering about this. Are the new maps only in the DLC playlist, or do they show up in the others, too?
I was thinking about getting the maps, but when I looked and only saw them mentioned in the DLC Playlist, I was a bit wary, since I do not really enjoy playing the same maps over and over again…

I don’t get this, why do people always complain about the few number of maps?
If you play BTB, slayer, infection and etc. People only pic a rotation of 3 maps two. There are more maps, but people don’t like them, so they are never picked.
The Map Rotation needs some serious work in all game modes. How can it be that I have to play 3 games in a row on the same map?
If a map got chosen, it simply should NOT be in the selection the next time around.
Same goes for the Crimson DLC Playlist, I really don’t want to play CTF three times in a row, so why is it even a possibility to choose from if we just finished a game with it?
I simply do not understand the thinking behind this…
You have a very biased view of what makes a playlist great op. I personally was going to buy every map pack that came out with Halo 4 pre-launch. I decided not to because the maps in Crimson are much TOO LARGE. There are WAY TOO MANY spots for camping! Make the maps small, competitive, and symmetrical, and I’ll buy it in a heartbeat.
I played them when they were free. That was all I needed to know to never want to buy them.
Bad maps and bad game types. When are we going to get small maps? 4 on 4 sized maps, how about you stop catering to btb and give small player games some love.

I played DLC when it was free as well, I never wanted to buy the maps though because I didn’t like them at all.
I am not to sure about the Crimson pack, I played CTF and Dominion on all three… and those matches can go by real fast because of the way the maps are made. I like a nice match were it goes back and forth… Hell, Harvest, you can hold the map with a couple of snipers… Wreckage, with a Hog and a good driver, a CTF game is over in nothing flat… I will not judge Shatter harshly for I have only played 3 matches on it. I will say, they look great in detail.
All I play is Crimson! The matches are ferociously fast, plays like Unreal Tournament, the original.
The maps are large but you need big maps for CTF and Extraction. I personally think bigger is better. Love the 2 Mantis and ghosts on that level as well. The achievements are fun to get, so many people running around with turrets, hahaha.
