I haven’t been in a very big Halo 4 mood due to other games/interests, but I got a chance to play one match on Shattered. It was pretty no doubt, but it just felt like another generic map.
all very nice i suppose if you play btb but if you prefer 4v4 or god forbid 2v2 then you are stuffed. haven is the only map fit to carry the halo name " im talking 4v4" i don’t play btb so i have no opinion on the maps.
It’s alright. Some of the game modes are good on them and I always liked the pace of 6vs6 over 8vs8 (not so much over 4vs4).
However I am looking forward to some more meaty maps as the pew pew from atop a rock in the middle of no where is really frustrating for a player who likes to get in close. The alleyways in Harvest are getting there but it is still easy for a tryhard to stay back and not engage. Boring.
You can only expect so much variety with just 3 maps. That’s why i think there should be more than 3 for these kinds of releases to cater to 4v4s and 8v8s (and everything in between).
I am enjoying the maps so far but i don’t look forward to Oddball on Wreckage anytime soon. That gametype is terrible on that map, it’s too easy to keep the ball away from the enemy team by tossing it. Tossing it is not the problem, it’s the size of the map that kills it for me.
Anyways, i am not going to devote a part of my lifespan writing a wall about my nit-picky sophisticated tastes and expectations that 343 will never meet with their Halo games or related map packs like 98 percent of forums do. I am just going to walk away saying i enjoyed Crimson more than i thought i would.
Thought I would hate them, was pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed all of them thoroughly, my only gripe so far is that UGLY green filter on the one map. Makes my eyes burn/looks like someone threw up on the screen.
You have a point there critical, there needs to be more maps released in a map pack then just three. But considering they already had these maps completed before release. I don’t think they’ll listen
Neutral, they will be forgotten as soon as they hit regular map rotation.
All of them are to big (what a surprise), and Wreckage causes a massive frame rate decrease from time to time. (At least on an Xbox 360 Elite) However, I do like how the Mantis on Shatter is easy to deal with.
I don’t say anyone picking these over Ragnarock or Exile, unfortunately.
Also I must say, does the control panel part of Shatter’s bases strike a remarkable resemblance to the locker room in Half-Life? When your in front of the control panel, just imagine the HEV suit where the sender node is.
