That may be so for some, but MS has recently stated that it shall remain free until the 18th for those who downloaded it for free yesterday.

Basically, they’re getting a trial version.

What is the source of this info? And will I get to keep the maps? I got them for free, but because I bought the LE.

If you read Kotaku’s post it said something about being a thanks to the Halo 4 launch success. Leave it to Microsoft to make a half -Yoinked!- cover up. I surely won’t be buying these maps anyway they are garbage.

No. It’s now been said that you will have the maps as a trial until the 18th, and then you will lose them unless you bought War Games Map Pass or the Limited Edition.

For LE owners, you’re keeping them permanently since you bought the LE version.

For those who got it for free will have a week to play on it for free. Then, you’ll have to buy it if you want to play it again.

Have you tried downloading it from the Halo 4 Marketplace option? Do it in-game, not separately. If it doesn’t work, then you’ll have to wait. Sorry.

UPDATE: Just found out that those who got the Specialisation codes will be getting it for free temporarily. Those who did not get the Specialisation codes will have to purchase it separately.
