"As an additional reward to those customers that participated in our “14 Day, Buy and Play” program (which ran from Nov. 6 – Nov. 20), we are providing complimentary access to the Crimson Map Pack for a limited time, through Tuesday, December 18 at 9am UTC/GMT.
There were some initial complications with the distribution of the “14 day, Buy and Play” reward tokens, and so we decided to provide the additional reward of complimentary access to the Crimson Map Pack, for a limited time, as a “thank you” to our customers that contributed to the success of the “Halo 4” launch."
So you thank the people who spent money upfront for the LE (like me) or the Map Pack by spitting in their faces?
But I see no big deal in this. It’s to get people to spend their money (if you haven’t already-LE or Map Pass) by letting them try the maps for a little while and then take it away.
If this is true, all the people that think they got it for free forever and bragging about it…well now the joke’s on them.
UPDATE:So people have a free trial of the Crimson Map Pack until 12/18, what’s the big deal? I bought the map pass before all of this and i didn’t get so worked up over it. Don’t you want more people to play and enjoy the game?
It’s not about bragging over someone that doesn’t have the map pass verses someone who does. It’s about playing the game-as well as playing some maps which you paid for rightfully so to have it forever.
So it’s a free demo. Don’t worry dude - it’s not going to kill you to let someone else enjoy some of the sun too.
So Kotaku gets the news but no-one has? Anyone else find this whole thing a bit fishy? Methinx MS screwed up and are trying to save face with PR bluster.
Question for peeps in the EU reading this;
Did you get the crimson maps without a specs code?
“Hey everyone! There were some initial complications with the distribution of the “14 day, Buy and Play” reward tokens, and so we decided to provide the additional reward of complimentary access to the Crimson Map Pack, for a limited time, as a “thank you” to our customers that contributed to the success of the Halo 4 launch. Those of you that own the Halo 4 Map Pass via standalone purchase or the Limited Edition will not be impacted and will continue to have access to the content after the complimentary access period ends on Tuesday, December 18 at 9am UTC/GMT.”
