This is just serving as a warning to all of you. I can all but guarantee the first DLC will be a complete fiasco. First DLC for games (halo most certainly included) don’t always seem to go so swimmingly. They are sometimes delayed until later in the day or their are issues with map pass owners not being able to download the content. To save you a small amount of trouble I’d like to give you tips in order to keep those complaints to a minimum.
MAP PASS OWNERS:
DO NOT download the individual packs from the marketplace. You will be charged. I would rather not see a huge amount of “I bought the maps twice” posts. It’ll help you not waste money.
I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure that if you own the pass you more than likely get the maps through the game. Pop in your copy and it’ll let you know that you have new content waiting to be downloaded.
EVERYONE ELSE:
Don’t freak out if the maps don’t come out until mid-late noon time. Sometimes it takes a while.
DLC usually hits the marketplace around 5-6AM EST. It does sometimes come later. Sometimes DLC get’s pushed back more than a day if things aren’t going right. If this does happen 343 will know about it and their will be no need to make a billion posts about it.
343 made this soup but it’s Microsoft’s job to serve it. If you have a long wait time for the maps availability don’t blame the cook blame the waiter.
If anyone has any tips to share to stop some of the unnecessary complaints please feel free to add them.

Also just to confirm, if this season pass is anything like gears 3s.
It will prompt users to download them when the game loads up. They can also just access them with a season pass through the IN GAME menu, in case the game pop up doesn’t notify them.

Good point! I put that into the OP. If the wait time is long for the maps it’s most definitely not 343’s fault. It’s Microsoft’s job to push the DLC out.

That is exactly what inspired me to make this post. Those kids were so raged. It is essentially what made me stop visiting the Epic forums. It was also over all of the Sawed off complaint threads and whatnot. Their are already enough complaint threads so if this one can help avoid a few potential ones it’ll be a good thing.
Once they give the content to Xbox LIVE, it’s up to the service itself to make it available for purchase and allow people with subscriptions a free download.
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING anyone from 343 can do about it. We just have to wait it out.

Try shutting dashboarding or shutting your console off and trying again.

same, you can buy them now, but le/map pack users can’t yet…
i think the waypoint challenge is the “infinity Challenge” challenge, so if you signed up for that, you’d get it…
ok just so i got this right i preordered the limited edt and the entered the code for the maps and other goodies that was all on the same code now if this correct i get the map pack for free but will it just just downloading or what cause in the market place it says i have to buy the 2000 mp for the pass but i thought i got it for free.
yes people with the Map Pass will be charged again if you buy it from the Marketplace you have to load the game and use the in game marketplace to get your map pack
heres the problem the maps are in the marketplace but they arnt listed on the in game marketplace yet…
pay all that money to get the map pass to have access to all 3 packs when they are released just to have to sit and wait while others who dont have the pass can get them right now, great work 343 for screwing your loyal gamers up once again

the map pass wont let me download the map pack i was in the game it just said that it was released and no pop up for the download

if you own the map pass which you got with your Limited Edition start the game up on the menu with Campaign, Infinity etc the bottom one is Xbox Live Marketplace click that if the map pass is listed in there download it from there not the dashboard marketplace.
