Right, I am upset that 343 claimed that it was a trial, and not a screw-up on their part; but considering the maps were meant to cost money in the first place, I’m happy to pay for them now. Honestly though I think 343 should have been honest in this situation and just told everyone that they made a mistake, that’s my only problem with this situation, but as I said, I am still perfectly happy to pay for the map packs so I don’t cheat other people out of their money (those who bought the map pass and/or LE) and because honestly I love the map shatter for one and harvest is incredibly fun in large-team gametypes 
Complimentary access. That’s a good one. Just another way of saying ‘we -Yoinked!- up’. I played the maps, most are garbage, and extraction is rather boring, kind of like dominion. But seriously - how many achievements are we getting? Eight right? and three new maps to boot. This is unacceptable, these maps and achievements should have been included since day one. Instead all that ever gets chosen is Ragnarok and Exile, both terrible maps. Last game I played on exile the other team managed to get ahold of both gauss hog and scorpion. You see, in halo reach you didn’t need to play in an eight person live party to get a good match, you could play with random people, but now in halo 4 if you’re going solo in big team battle, you might as well sign your death warrant.
I took the liberty of checking the populations of both halo 3 and reach today to compare. A few months ago halo 3 had 5k people, now it’s 2600. Reach had over 67000 today and Halo 4 doesn’t have much more, maybe because it’s christmas I don’t know. If this isn’t a temporary trend I suggest releasing all map packs for free OR at a discounted price because I can tell you I am NOT paying money for three poorly made maps. The war games map pack should cost no more than $10 dollars. Your business practices disgust me.

EDIT- Restarted my xbox and now they are randomly there.
I know this is late, but the only way to lose achievements, is to have your gamerscore reset. Any achievements that have been unlocked legit, stay.
How does this factor in with the achievements, 343? Halo Waypoint tells me I have 49/57, whereas live.xbox.com tells me that I have 52/57. Although in reality I only need one more to have them all, so would this be affecting my overall count? Any ideas 343?
Also I purchased the map pack the day it came out so I had it legitimately from day one.

When I signed on to play earlier today, I noticed that just 849 were playing the Crimson Playlist
1300 were playing Flood…says it all really

My issue is that the maps are so freaking terrible. Come on, let’s get some real maps.

find the crimson mappack and delete
you were only given a trial and have to delete the content after the trial to continue to access MP
its not a bug its how the mappack worked for free
if you want to play crimson mappack you must purchase it like everyone else
unless you purchased it for 800 ms points or warpass or an LE user then you can download it from the INGAME store if you haven’t done so already
if you have then download it with infinity actual kit installed from your download history

I have friends who’ve not bothered with halo 4, friends who love halo and followed the game from the start. I came late, with halo 3, and I don’t hate this game. Despite it’s flaws (split screen lag is a JOKE!!!) it can be fun. But after seeing how this is handled? I’m with my mates and boycotting this. Going PC. Halo 5, if it’s ANYTHING like this, won’t be missed by us.
Anyone with an iota of intelligence can see this “trial” was a greedy lie. Bad enough it was barely 4 WEEKS before they started charging the fans AGAIN, but then lying about the errors? Covering the fault with this poorly worded, hastily constructed veil of BS? It was priced at 0, “sold” at 0, with NO mention of trials.
Surely they can’t just get away with this? I’m an LE owner so no skin off my nose. Makes me sick how this has been handled. I could forgive Halo it’s faults, mostly, it’s still early days. I can roll with the gameplay changes. But I won’t swallow spoon-fed bull crap.

I agree with the statement above and I am not an LE user. Who cares…I mean all those people that are complaining that MS and 343i lied to use…well, if I am not mistaken every single person that has been commenting and complaining have lied in their past, present, and future. Stop being a hypocrite and either play the game and have fun, or stop playing and leave the HALO 4 forums to join other forums that are non-halo 4.
Look this is complete BS, when bungie charged (for the first time on Xbox i might add)for the maps on halo 2, i was disgusted not only because halo 2 was the worst halo game EVER but now they are charging for bad maps.Today is no different, 343 just want their money and because microsoft owns them they can get away with this BS cover. It says NOTHING about a trial, now i’m no law expert but i’m pretty sure that giving something away free (albeit an accident) then changing your mind and takeing it away is illegal and anyone with half a brain can see that it was a mistake and not a trial based on the fact a trial was never mentioned beforehand. i do understand that it being free takes away piles of profit, but still, it was your mistake and you sould have to deal with it, just like i have to deal with my money being taken when i accidently purchase HD videos on zune because when you come out of the options screen the cursor has moved from options to the purchase button. or the fact i used to live in the U.S and most of the games i purchased from on demand are region locked for no other reason then unscrupulous profiteering. If the Australian economy is more stable then the U.S and the Australian dollar is higher (and has been for years) why do i pay double on DOWNLOADABLE content. I know that seems off topic but it is not it is just another example of Xbox squezing every penny out of the people that made them the dominent console in the online gameing world.

…since as disappointed as I am that I can’t play something for nothing I can see the logic behind the above. And going forward I don’t mind the idea of DLC demo’s so long as that’s planned. But instead of a mature conversation between the devs and the community we have revisionist history that tries to save face by loosing it in the worst possible way. Before we could simply fault 343 for being sloppy missing a single, but none-the-less critical, loophole but now the organization is lying to us. Blatantly. They sidestep a small pothole only to fall onto a landmine.
First of all, i do agree that game developers can charge for their DLC if they choose, but, makeing it common place is a cop-out, look at PC games, they dont charge for maps and add-ons and PC gameing is still on top, all this is, is money grubbing plain and simple, I don’t know how long you have had Live, but in the early days all you paid for was you subscription and when a game came out (for the most part) it was a “complete” game, with all the bells and whistles you would expect, compare that with today when a game comes out and witin a month there is an add-on that can cost another $20, go back just 6 years or so and that would have free. If adding maps and extra content cost game developers so much money, why then is Xbox so much more popular now than then? I’ll tell you, they built a fan base by giveing you exelent games, content and just an all-round enjoyable online gameing experiance, now that they are the dominant online console gameing system, leaveing PSN in it’s wake, they jack up the prices and don’t care about the gamers, just the money. it is all round D-bagery. Anywho my point is it doesn’t hurt the developers to show the same loyalty to the gamers, as the gamer’s used to show the developers for putting out QUALITY “complete” games. Don’t get me wrong for all my bashing i still enjoy xbox, xbox live and yes, halo aswell i just wish they still used the same formula, quality for loyalty. 343 need to admit to their mistake and deal with the fact that they only got what, couple hundered million dollars from the game sales, take their losses like grown-up’s and stop acting like children trying to cover up their mistakes with transparant lies.
One final thought, you do NOT unlock achievements on demo’s or trial’s, guess what? i unlocked 6 or 7 with this “trial”. Riddle me that 343!
