Hi there. I purchased the Halo 4 Limited Edition and I heard and saw that I should get the Crimpson Map for free. I downloaded it, it worked but since I did an update it doesn’t work. Can someone help me with this issue. My system says to validate but I am connected to xbox live and I have redownloaded the map packs and removed the but still doesn’t work. I would like to get these maps back since they are to be free to me. Thanks and God Bless.

This is hilarious. They don’t even want to say we screwed up and this is how we are fixing it. Instead we are giving out a trial… yeah right. Microsoft themselves said it was an error.
Anyways, the Crimson Playlist is down to a few thousand now that the majority who had the ‘trial’ are gone. Great… now I can’t get play the maps I paid for outside of the low populated Crimson DLC Playlist.
Uhh didn’t the map pack come out around the 10th? It is apparently a “14 day free trial” that I downloaded and is no longer available… Today is the 19… Hmmm 19-10 = 9… Where is my 5 more days of free Crimson DLC? First of giving it away for free, then trying to cover it up at “14” day free trial, and not even allowing it to be played for 14 days… Pretty much BS on the whole thing… You could have at least let the people who downloaded it for free keep it as like a special release to the early birds or some other BS… 343i you are ruining the halo franchise… Nuff said

The 14 day trial in question was the code that came with the game for 14 free days of X-box live…

Blamming 343 again for MICROSOFT’S -Yoink- UP! Remember though 343 is owned by MS, they ONLY MAKE CONTENT, THEY DON’T RELEASE IT. As it stands, this is probably a notice given to them by MS to say, as MS does to EVERY game dev that they -Yoink- over like this.

Exactly what I would like to know as well - there are no clear instructions on how to download the maps if you are a LE owner, and like StealthKnight15, I am now getting the “unable to verify” error despite owning the LE and having redeemed the War Games map pass code.
The 14 day buy and play was November 6th to the 20th. If you bought Halo 4 and played between that time period, you got a free 1 week trial for the maps, and free access to the remaining 6 specializations.
I remember hearing that Crimson was coming out soon and thinking, “What the -Yoink-? This game isn’t even a month old and they’re releasing DLC maps already?” Then on the day Crimson launched I followed the link that the game prompted me to and saw that it was free. I assumed they were giving us this DLC for free since the game launched with a severe lack of quality maps, so my faith in MS/343 was somewhat restored. Then this storm of nonsense followed, and they wonder why the active playerbase has decreased by 75% since the game launched.

I have the Limited edition w/ the free map packs. The Crimson map pack dlc downloaded works, but only for one gamertag (Primary acct.)…Why isnt my console liscense working for this? It cant be just gamertag specific??? I have a family gold and its not available for anyone else playing on the account OR the console…

I´ll be back on the Crimson Map Packs end of February. I hope population is up till then. Maybe I´ll be on time by time the next weeks but i´m still a bit “disgruntled” cause your “trial” I paid for it before I knew there was a “trial” 
Me and many others are not mad because we lost the free map pack, what we are mad about is being lied to. THE MAP PACK WAS NOT INTENDED TO BE A TRIAL. Just be straight with us fans, you screwed up and are taking them back, if you had said that i wouldnt have had a problem with it. I just REALLY HATE being lied to with a cover up, just seems shady and borderline illegal. I guess it doesnt really matter to me though, i refuse to play your game anymore untill a good FFA option is available. So to sum it up, stop forcing me to play team slayer and lying to me. People like straight shooters, not deceptive cowards. Thanks.

This is where Borderlands 2 and Halo 4 are VERY DIFFERENT. Borderlands 2 is about to get its 3rd DLC, and Halo 4 will be getting another one in a month and a half. The difference between these two games is that BORDERLANDS WAS A FINISHED GAME! HALO 4 IS NOT! Here’s an idea 343, how about you hold off on the DLC and just finish the damn game that you gave birth to prematurely in an alley behind the high school on prom night! 343 is trying to build a temple on the foundation of an outhouse. Halo 4 should be fixed (custom game options, maps worth forging on, precision editing in forge, etc.) before marching upward with the DLC.

If 343 was more transparent about what they are doing with this franchise then I think the brats and -Yoinks!- would slowly disappear. Microsoft and 343 may have purchased the rights to this franchise, but it was Bungie who made it what it was. They listened to their community and were straight forward if they made mistakes. 343 is dancing around the issues.
I have halo 4 LE i downloaded the mappack and played it once rebooted my xbox and now halo wont load my DLC…

So you think because you ponied up $100 dollars you are special for getting the map pack, but those of us who bought the limited edition console should not get the same advantage even though we spent nearly $400. I don’t think it devalues anything to give it to those that spent more than double what you spent.

I’d usually say the same thing but 343 deserves this type of feedback. This was no trial and they know it, we all do. At least admit to your mistakes as a company.
Well 343Industries has ruined yet another game by just saying sorry we can’t help you when you have a problem now i have Lost access to crimson and im not paying 24 dollars to get it back
