As I have been reading the different posts I started to think about the Power that Microsoft has with their DLC.
Soon (from what I have heard) we will have gaming systems that are DLC based to prevent resale of games. If that happens, microsoft will have total control of what we buy, and could potentially take anything away from us if they choose to.
MS- “Well, now you complain to much on these forums so you must not like the game…YOINK its gone, sucks to be you!”
Me- “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

EVERYONE. Just stop giving any more money to 343i. It was a mistake on their part, and had they said that and taken the map packs away it would have been fine. However, they are outright lying to their consumers stating that this was a ‘trial’ which never existed. I was lucky and got the map pack free. I expected it to be taken away, but Microsoft said it was a mistake and that we were lucky. I thought, “Cool.” I was expecting the packs to be taken away and I gladly would have paid.
Now they are lying and saying it was a trial. Yeah, no. I’m not gonna give them anymore money if they can’t pony up to the fact that it was their mistake, not mine. Again, I would have gladly paid, but now they are lying. I encourage everyone to continue playing, but refrain from buying anymore products from 343i.

no, yoink for brains… the reason is because we’ve already payed. so, yea, we dont want to pay for it AGAIN, since we pre-ordered in Nov, and I would never in a million years assume MS would refund me for the 2nd purchase, but never have I asked for anything for free. I buy the LE because Im not fuh king poor like you. nothing is free. ya faag

now the DLC maps neither download them even if I’m entitiled to it with the Legendary version…
You know it is so funny that they are passing this off as a tril for the crimson map pack. I just got of the phone with Xbox and talk to a rep there. He told me that 343s BUG was just fixed with the map pack. He told me that 343 made another map pack and released it as the same thing exept this time you have to pay for it. This was not a tril version it was a glitch that no one new about and we all thought it was free. I would love to know why 343 took my map pack away it is not our falt you falsely advertised the map pack and it did not say it was a tril it said it was free and you took it from us. Thanks 343 for messing up!!! Im contacting Microsoft Leagal Department to see if this can get settled concidering 343 is is representing Xbox live and Microsoft and placing false advertisement of free map packs on Xbox Live. Seriously, guys…not trying to pick a fight, but its simple (to me):
Support your favorite series by getting the maps or not. Holding out for a TU is fine, if that’s how you feel. If the issue is the fact that you have to pay for it, hey, that’s life - nothing is free. NOTHING
If the issue is respect, i say: get over yourself. None of us are special. We are just gamers wanting to game. Not like we are -Yoinking!- members of the Avengers!!!
Is one person going to post here that they knew it was or heard that it was a 14 day trial? Haven’t heard that once. So you can easily judge what is BS and what is not BS.
Fact, I was sent a code via my email for my Xbox Live account. I just bought the game, basic, without the free maps in the future. The code was confusing, but you put the code in, and that allowed you to get the map pack. It wasn’t a work around nor a glitch. MS send me the code or “gift” as it was called. In the text I remember reading, the “gift” was available until the 18th. As in you had until the 18th to download it. It said nowhere it “ends” on the 18th. Further, I recall in the text MS saying that because of the “great success” of the launch, those who played Halo 4 on Xbox Live during the initial release were getting the code/map pack for free.
Some people got it via that initial glitch when it was listed as costing 0 MSP. I’m not in that boat. I got it legit via an email from MS. It was a “gift”.
When facts speak, listen to them. This is and was a sham. It’s garbage and it’s a slap in the face to Halo fans. Have it, then take it away. Then we have to manually delete the crap from our hard drive as of the 18th. Now that IS BRUTAL. No trials work that way. It’s called a screw up and backpedaling.
So there are a few situations here. Some of us did get it via email message gift from MS. Not everyone got it initially via the glitch loophole.
Nice mess. 343i should be removed from the Halo franchise. If you don’t put FFA and audio options in this game, I’m done with the franchise. Big middle finger to you guys (or at least the ones calling the shots at 343i).
I still have 2 achievements that I “earned” on the free “trial” of the Crimson Map Pack. I called Microsoft and got told after 1hr 15mins on the phone that, “You called us and screw you!” I am totally disappointed.

That’s exactly it. We’re just pissed because they’re pulling all this out of their -Yoink-, when it’s so much easier to say: “Hey guys… we kind of -Yoinked!- up and the DLC was free when it wasn’t supposed to be, so for those that got it when it was glitched, we’re gonna limit you and give you 14 days to try it before we disable it.” <---- If that would’ve been their response over the generic “we are thanking everyone for Halo 4!” (which is total -Yoink- anyway) a lot of us (like me) would be like: “That’s straight, least we know you -Yoinked!- up and you’re taking responsibility. So for that, you deserve me money.”

Curious to know why this “reward” was not mentioned before Crimson was released?
Or at any time during the 9 hours it took for LE and War Games Pass owners to get access to Crimson after it went LIVE on the marketplace.
Or why it took over 48hrs for Xbox support to be made aware of this trial considering their Twitter team were telling people who discovered they were getting the full map pack for free that “it is our mistake, you can have it on us” rather then explaining it was a 7 day trial
Or why for the first time ever, a trial allowed you unlock the Achievements and keep them
Poor clean up with a poor cover up story to try and mask the worse Map Pack launch ever for an Xbox game which just happens to be the worst launched HALO game in the series history

sorry if this is just me who’s confused but I have the legendary edition and have redeemed all my codes prior to the crimson maps release. Today I went to go play crimson and remembers the fiasco, when I was prompted to go download them I said yes, then I went down and in the description it said you gave have the war games map pass don’t download this. I figured maybe I had to re-redeem my code so I tried putting it in and it said this code has already been redeemed. How do I get the maps now that I can’t use my code and there,is was no free download for me? Tried google couldn’t find anything so I figured I’d ask. I just want my maps, thanks.
