I already bought the maps, it was a joke post, i’m so bored with this garbage game. I played Halo 3 everyday till Halo 4 came out. Now I pass the time complaining about Halo 4, sub-consciously knowing this game has Died
I realize there are a lot of people whining about “its too much money” or “i dont have money for this” or whatever… that isnt me… I have a job and money. I will buy 30 limited editions, problem is then, 343 would be yoinking me up my yoinkhole 30 times and not once.
just another day of yoinking the yoink out of peoples yoinkholes

You Mad Bro?
I’m playing Halo 3 right now.
Awesome, an entire thread dedicated to the “-Yoink- you” 343 and MS gave to their fans. How about a thread addressing this abysmal game and our “complimentary” access to a better Halo game? That’s what I thought, you can’t do it because of your typical PR -Yoink-.
You can fix a glitch concerning money overnight but can’t even address simple issues in the game, or better yet, you can’t even address people who never got the spec code (your best defense is to lock the thread and point them to another locked thread, great).
343 is a pile of steamy -Yoink-. They’re on point with Slant Six and Future Soldier’s Dev team in terms of sheer incompetence.
For what it’s worth. Who cares if 343/microsoft made the mistake of pre-releasing the maps, or if it was truly a trial. The fact that we had time to experience them, determine if we liked them, and get the achievements for the maps FOR FREE should be enough. Only those that bought the LE game (not myself) truly owned them (i will not get into the convos I saw about that). I still plan on buying the Crimson Map Pack because I like getting ALL the achievements for my games.
THANK YOU 343 and MIRCOSOFT (mistake or not) for allowing me the opportunity to play the maps for free. I had fun and look forward to purchasing them soon. I hope this is a trend because I liked the chance to play the maps before purchasing them. Maybe this can be the new standard for releasing DLC and possibly BETA testing the DLC too.
> > I like the fact MS stated that the DLC was a 14 day trial, even though that was never stated anywhere but on this website… and we all know how much of a rule monger MS is… so I call BS on that.

> As a hardcode Halo fan you probably know and meant 343i (right)? Microsoft’s view on the DLC Error was to let us keep it (after acknowledging their error on twitter)
> And as far as Bungie go… I remember their post on Bungie forums that pretty much said (to the complaints about reach) We are Bungie, we know better than the halo players and the community and will do as we please with OUR - NOT YOUR game…
> So please don’t kid yourself - Bungie were no better than 343i - its just they didn’t make quite as many mistakes in the first launch!
>
> Having cleared that up for you… I do understand your frustrations. I spent about 30-40 hours playing halo3 a week [I enjoy sleeping since its demise ;0] but I realise (when I nearly bought BLOPS 2 the other day) that I wont be with Halo 4 much longer
Actually you are only partially right, Yes initially the Xbox Support team had tweeted that it was an error and OK for those who did get it to keep it. But later (the next day) there was a post on the Xbox forums from Miss Cleo from Xbox Support that started this whole sham - the 343i post regarding the bogus “14 day buy and try” promotion was only a copy of that post/press release which surely came straight from the Microsoft PR/BS department.
And Bungie was better, they at least had the balls to stand up to Microsoft on occasion. Since 343i is a totally owned Microsoft subsidiary they will just fall in line with the company. So Microsoft is to blame for the cover-up/lie being perpetrated, but those at 343i customer relations are not much better since they bowed down to being Microsoft’s stooge in this case and further perpetrated this sham. I find it all disgraceful.

> E1: “God I don’t know man Jesus -censoreding!- -censored!- this can’t be happening”
> E2: “Oh my god we’re done we’re so -censoreding!- fired god no”
> Employee 3: “Guys guys guys we have to tell the boss something, she wants a solution NOW”
> E2: “I know! Let’s tell everyone that it was a gift! A trial!”
> E1: “Brilliant!”
> Meanwhile, Employee 4 had been listening to his lame anime music playlists (mine are better c:) on his mPod, and did not hear Employee 2’s BRILLIANT AND FOOLPROOF plan
> E4: “Huh. I guess they screwed up. Better warn the customer support guys before they get covered in -censored!-”
>
> Epilogue:
> E2 was promoted to SUPREME GENERAL SWAGMASTER MANAGER OF EVERYTHING EVER for his WONDERFUL AND PERFECT idea
> E1 was killed in a firefight over the last bottle of Doritos-flavored Mountain Dew (DoriDew™) in the vending machine and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Dew
> E3 went on to marry the bosslady, whose name is unknown to this day
> E4 was stoned, castrated, branded with the mark of shame, and finally hanged for his accidental treason
This, right here … made my morning. Funny OP is Funny.

Only reason people complain about this non-issue: they want something for free. So, if you are a -Yoink- whiner I say this: GO -Yoink- YOURSELF and pay for the maps
Huge Halo fan…will likely never stop playing, BUT:
This is the first map pack I will not buy, due to
- This yoink stupidity
- 3 identical, big team maps, all of which are pretty bad
I understand map packs, I don’t really mind map packs, I have bought every single Halo map pack, BUT:
- I’ve never been offered three identical maps
- I’ve never been forced to buy “new” content one month after a game’s release
- I’m not paying $10 for 3 sub-par maps. Sorry, but no.
There is a grizzled old cowpoke out west who could properly describe the veracity of 343 Industry’s and Microsoft’s statement about alleged the “14 day buy and play” plan. Such a description would likely violate the policy that governs this forum. We could just say “liar liar pants on fire” and call it a day, except Mircosoft is disabling software that Xbox 360 owners legally downloaded to their consoles and everyone seems okey-dokey about it.

Gosh, this one sure is smaaaaaart.
Good thing he showed us self-entitled whiners what-for.
People aren’t upset because they have to pay for what is easily one of the worst DLCs of the new decade. People are upset because of the shoddy cover-up they’ve done. It’s extremely dishonest, and a plain insult to our intelligence.
If they had admitted that it was a mistake, and said that they would let people have the maps for a few days, people wouldn’t be griping half as much. Instead, they lied about it and couldn’t even put in an effort to do a good job of lying.
It shows that not only do they not care about us, but that they think we are gullible idiots.
And for chrissake, wasn’t it supposed to be a “14-day trial”?
“14-day” implies that it is available for 14 days. Not 4 days, or 6 days, or 9 days, or 13 days, but 14 DAYS.
If you accidentally gave your friend access to your bank’s checking accnt, and that same friend took out all your money, is he/she the owner of that money?
Your argument is flawed and without merit. Just because you can download the software does NOT make your the owner of it
> a plain insult to our intelligence.
I’ve seen very little intelligence from the forum community.
I don’t normally post on forums, but after reading this – and then some of the community’s comments I felt compelled to sign in and put my 2 pence worth in.
Firstly the map packs and all DLC content is owned by Microsoft or the Studio until paid for.
All you guys moaning about it?? What gives you the right to have the map pack for free??
You have not done anything to earn it and you have not bought it, so you are in no position to moan about it.
If you want the maps you have to pay for them, it’s that simple.
I have the LE version, and the only reason I bought it is so I had access to all the maps.
So why would It be fair to give you stuff free – that LE owners have paid for in advance.
It wouldn’t and that’s a fact.
So quit crying about it, and man up!! If you don’t want them that’s fine, but if you do you had better get your wallets out.
343 have more things to worry about then a bunch of whiney kids!
Balance issues , nerfing the DMR and Bolt shot should be the priority right now.
What some don’t understand (or care) about is this: the more the complaining continues, the less credibility it has. It will be the ‘boy that cried wolf’ syndrome.

Are you referring to the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use? Here is the relevant section that let’s Microsoft disable your legally downloaded applications for limited reasons:

Because insulting people makes your focus on the wrong argument less stupid.
Again, folks. The reason people are complaining is NOT because they want the DLC for free.
It’s because Microsoft and 343 lied and are still lying about it despite the fact that most of the fanbase already knows that they’re lying.
Continuing to make yourself believe that people are arguing in favor of free maps is just as silly as arguing that people who don’t like the game should “go play COD lol”.
