When I originally purchased the map pack for 0 MS points it never told me it was a 14 day trial. It also said that all payments are final and there are no refunds.

I downloaded the war games map pass but still can’t play the crimson map pack?
If you got the free download bwfore you got thewarpass you must delete the mappack then redowload it from ingame marketplace…spawnling does it really matter ifbit was a trial or not

Maybe 343 should think about the community, and be alittle gracious, they are playing with someone elses game after all. It does matter, if they get away with this whats next? let me break it down for you, they accidently put it out free, took it of the marketplace, released un update so you cant play it anymore, re-released the map pack and are lying through their teeth so they dont get sued! if this just slips through the cracks and people have that attitude about this, then i see a very bleak future ahead for games and gamers everywhere.
343 has just taken the crown from EA as worst Developer ever, with ME3 when the community was angry over something they released a bunch of good stuff free of charge to try and gain their confidence back,that is called good business, 343 on the other hand are relying on the Bungie/Halo reputation assuming the fan base is too strong to fall apart over their mistakes and mishandleing of this situation. I am not asking for something free i realize those days are long gone, but come, on this is ridiculous.

From what I can read the community is a little ticked off about this. No one stole this, it had a price on it and that was 0 so it wasn’t stealing. Microsoft even said it was a screw up, the reason they took it away is people with the LE and Map Pass complained non stop that they were being cheated. Now if 343i/Microsoft fixed the problem within a day or two it wouldn’t have been like the whole Halo 4 community got the maps for free just the people who got to it first and by the looks of the Crimson DLC playlist they should have let people keep it cause that crap is dead.
WTF are you talking about? read the forums, there are more people mad about the blatent lies then anything. i’ll try and type this clearer so you can understand, they accidently released it free of charge, now, accident or not it WAS free, Xbox had even tweeted that it was a mistake, now they are saying it was a 14 day trial and chargeing people for it after they had already downloaded it. It IS their right to charge for whatever they want, just like it is our right as consumers to take advantage of their mistake. and it IS the same as ME3, that was the ending the CREATERS wanted but because the consumer was mad they released free stuff to make them happy (good business) this is just the reverse they made a mistake and are now trying to change their minds and treating the consumer like an idiot ( bad business). countless times in a drunken stupor i would get on Live at 4am buy something then regret it the next day, do i get my money back because i made a mistake? HELL NO!!! then why should they be able to get their money back after THEIR MISTAKE?!?!?!?! If you recieved a coupon that was “buy 1 get 10 free” but it was supposed to be “buy 1 get 1 free” they still have to honor the original coupon. No real diffrence here.

Everything that has happened has been because of completely different branches of Microsoft, the XBL Marketplace team and the XBL support team. 343 are a games developement team and 343 have no say in how much or when their content is placed onto the marketplace and have no control over any -Yoink- ups. People are just raging over something that they had no part of, but were told what to say to the public by THEIR bosses. Seriously people, open your eyes.

I had no idea that game devolpers couldn’t dictate the price of their own content, oh, wait a minute, they can. 343 are owned by microsoft, so yes, the blame is in part on microsoft, but not entirely, 343 are to blame aswell and it’s not even the price of the content that has people in a rage nor is it the fact it was free and now it’s not and they have had their content taken away, it is the lies told BY 343 and the fact they refuse to make any real comment on the situation, the situation being they esentially stole the map pack back and covered themselfs with a 14 day free trial BS lie. How do you people not understand the gravity of this situation, first it’s content being taken away because of an obvious mistake, whats next? not allowing people to play multiplayer untill they fork over another $20 because at the moment halo 4 is really popular, two sides of the same coin. What happend (whether microsoft, 343 or both) IS Illegal, that is why they are lying to the public about the “trial” if this went before a judge they would lose, plain and simple. I don’t even really care about the map pack, the maps were bad and extraction is terrible, i care because whether you see it now or not, if the actions taken by microsoft and, yes, 343, to cover their mistake so they don’t suffer any profit loss is not corrected now it WILL have far reaching conseqences for ALL within the gameing community, mark my words, if we do not, as a community stop this now, we will all regret it later.

Isn’t it kinda pathetic that out of all the glitches and issues in Halo 4 just waiting to be fixed isn’t being fixed, but the only one they’re willing to patch (might I add, with startling accuracy and timing) is the hiccup that slows down that which fills their wallet?

I will never give 343 another dollar. I will continue to play Halo 4 but that is it. All they had to do was admit a mistake was made and have me order again (or let me keep it) but they come out with this 14 day trial nonsense (even though the maps came out 12/10 and were removed 12/18??). I know they were not put in a great position by Microsoft but they could have handled it more professionally.
it also bothers me that a $10 map pack comes out a month after the game but that is another issue.

Dude no where did it ever say trail. 343 can’t admit they took it away because it would be illegal to take something away from us that we rightfully purchased, even if it was free. I am using my common sense I don’t think you are. You say it’s unfair that people got it for free because people paid extra for the maps. That’s like getting mad over buying something than a week later it goes on sale. The fact of the matter is 343/Microsoft took away the content and are lying about it, shouldn’t they be thinking about their community and not themselves?
