So now that the play list has been removed… How do I get them?
We played two of the maps in BTB on Sunday, I’m sure the cheevos will still work.
Edit = Yup, just checked it was Shatter and Wreckage.
You can still get them in playlists with the dlc maps, that is if you get lucky and get matched with nothing but DLC owners. Better way is to get some players and boost them.
Play the game as you normally would, the maps come up quite frequently in the regular playlists. BTB sees the two larger maps often, however the players vote for Ragnarok 98% of the time anyway.
The achievements are tied to the playlist, they’re tied to the maps. So join a team so you get the voting majority and keep playing until you see Crimson maps and vote accordingly.
Never once seen a DLC map pop up in any play list apart from the dedicated ones…

yea i got to admit i feel realy riped off paying 800MP and then to find out all this non sence about crimson being taken of the play list then that u have to wait for the maps and all this… so some one just mentioned that the achivments are tied in to the maps so can you make a custom game on one of the maps, play with say 2 or 3 people and still get the achivments? if so anyone willing to help out?

Are you playing with 15 friends that you know have the crimson maps?
I play 15 hours a week 95% of games on BTB and CTF and a crimson or majestic map has never even been available to be voted on. Fortunately I can play majestic through the playlist, no luck for crimson though.

Searching alone I play Harvest every 3 or 4 games.
This is nothing new, that’s how DLC works. There is a dedicated playlist for maps untill the next map pack comes out. It’s been the same since Halo 3… I don’t see why people are still so surprised by this.

I know right? I get the maps as voting option regularly, although like somebody said above, its usually Ragnarok or Exile that gets voted. Please 343, REDUCE the weighting of these maps as voting option to give the players who like the other maps a chance.
I get those maps everyday on Big Team so just play Big Team.

I’m not saying I don’t believe you but the chances of 16 players all having crimson maps is pretty low, almost certain to be at least one person who doesn’t have it.
I’m not making this up, I have plaid hours and hours of matchmaking and the crimson/majestic maps have never (by never I mean not once, I am not exaggerating this) been available to be voted on. Obviously I can play majestic in the playlist which is fantastic.
I do have the map pack installed on a thumb drive. Maybe I’ll move it to the hard drive, not sure why this would make a difference though. I think it’s more likely that it is just near impossible to get in a group of 16 who all have the map pack.

There is obviously some mechanism to either preferentially group players together who do have the maps, or that only half the players need to have the maps or something.
I’d like to know what that is so I can start getting these maps in my playlist.
Does anyone think it could be related to me having the maps installed on a thumb drive instead of the xbox hard drive? I have one of the early xbox’s with only a 20 GB drive so i need to utilise thumb drives unfortunately.
