Out of all of the new achievements this one seems to be the most difficult in my opinion to get. When everyone spawns with a plasma pistol it is near impossible to get. What are your opinions of this.
Slowly but surely. I think I am at about 12 stomps so far.
PS you can stomp ghosts 
The kills need to count in other matchs from other maps. I was never big on achievemnts being DLC maps specific. The reason being is that when a halo game gtes its 4 or 5th dlc not a ton of players buy them. Also some become very hard to get
I have 4 or 5 stomps so far. I don’t mind this one as it’s something I know I will be able to do eventually given enough games.
What I don’t like are the ones like melee someone and kill them when landing from a man cannon or getting a kill in a flying warthog as they seem tough.

I think these achievements are glitched anyway, or at least somethings wrong with my Xbox. I simply punched the enemy when I had jumped, they drop and I suddenly get the achievement. There wasn’t a man cannon in sight!. How could I have killed the enemy after launching from a man cannon when there wan’t a man cannon to begin with. Same happened when a enemy jumped at me and I shot first. He drops and ‘Hey presto’ I get the acheivement.
Very weird…
Anyway, I digress… On topic I agree. This achievement does seem a little hard to get, esspecially since you can now just start with the plasma pistol. But the others are right of course. We just need to keep at it.
My number of stomps so far: 0 
So far I think that I have gotten 2 stomps, I’m not 100% sure they were from a stomp and as far as I know I don’t think that there is a way to check to see. If there is a way please let me know. I had the achievement to melee someone after landing from a man cannon glich also, I had a charged plasma pistol then melee’d and the achievement popped up, hope the same happens for the mantis stomps.

To be honest, these achievements aren’t exactly hard at all. I already have about 13 stomps, you just have to play more tactically. A good method to use is facing away from an opponent to make it look like your unaware of them, and then quickly turn around and stomp them. Also, stomping ghosts works quite well. Remember that the stomps have a large area that it actually damages too.
Not a solution, but you can track your progress through halowaypoint: Go into your Halo 4 stats, then war games matchmaking, select Shatter in the maps section, and then look in your weapons stat “Mantis Stomp”. I got the achievement at 19 stomp kills, so i think is glitched

I think vehicle kills count on Waypoint but not for the achievement, so I’m not sure where I’m at.
Achievement was super easy if you have wheelman. Just let people think they can charge you and yeah lol. Just be patient you get it eventually. But “now they fly?” Is shennanigans. Should have had it 4 times now. As for the rest there glitched I got the one for the man cannon killing after jumping off a mantis and thruster packing away and the melee one after assasinating someone.
Made it all the way up to 3 stomps so far. I’ll try the wheelman mod and see if that helps. I don’t seem to get people dumb enough to run up to the mantis unless they have a charged plasma pistol in hand. If it wasn’t just one map that you could do this achievement on it wouldn’t be that big a deal.

Got the achievement over the weekend and like one of the other posters on here stated best to use wheelman and gunner if you have it, not everyone is dumb enough to come running at you. Best advice I can give is stay back a little where the Mantis spawns where there are several rocks sticking out of the ground, people seem to try to hide there so stomp away.
This is the last achieve. I need from DLC thus far (I know Majestic and Castle aren’t far behind). I’m up to 8 and, in accordance with other posters, yes: wheelman works great, keeps you alive for minutes longer if you play it right. As for gunner, I just unlocked it and will try. Thanks for tips!

Don’t forget to stand at the exit for the other team’s teleporter - you can get 2 or 3 stomp kills a game doing this if you’re lucky.
Operator spec.
Most important is to have wheelman mod equiped as well as gunner to get the stomp cooldown lowerd. Be careful when you stomp ghosts, as a lot of times the death is from the explosion of the ghost.
I got it with kills included on Rag, so it might just have to be the final kill on the DLC map.
I just got it today and I’m happy! ^^ It was my last achievement I didn’t have. Well, after Majestic, achievement -Yoink!- shall continue.

That sucks if it’s right, I’m only left with two that one and the one to get a kill while airborne in a Warthog.
