Crim$on, Maje$tic & Ca$tle - All DLC Playli$t

I know this probably belongs in the War Games section, but seeing as those threads are very specific, I put this here.

It’s very frustrating when you fork over the extra money for map packs and then hardly ever get to play them. Instead I’m playing tons of forge created maps…

Now the Crimson maps pop up more frequently in Big Team Slayer, but when I’m playing any other playlist, I don’t even get the chance to vote for a Majestic map because it never pops up.

This also sucks because I really want to get full achievements on Halo 4 but doubt I ever will because I’m missing a few from the first the Crimson and Majestic DLC packs.

I am asking that there be a specific “All DLC” playlist permanently added to Halo 4. The maps are great! All I want is to play and enjoy them - that’s why I gave you the extra money.

Thank you

agreed, 343 should make a DLC filter or a 4v4 and 8v8 dlc playlist.

Its simply, I paid for so I get it.

I loved the reach dlc but I hardly ever played on them.
And I don’t want that again.

Don’t think you’re the first to suggest this. While it would be a great idea, we all know it isn’t going to happen, ala Reach.

The best way to get the DLC achievements is to get a party of people with the maps together and go into matchmaking.

I concur. The only problem with having an All DLC Playlist is that two of the map packs (Crimson & Castle) are mainly meant for larger team sizes such as 6v6 or 8v8, while Majestic is strictly for 4v4 only. 343 would have to separate them into different playlists.

I personally think they should just bring back the individual playlists for each Map Pack.

How about this.

DLC face off - 4v4 with Landfall, Monolith, and Skyline
DlC skirmish - 6v6 with Daybreak, Perdition and Harvest
DLC Big Team - 8v8 with Shatter, Wreckage and Outcast

That would work. Hopefully 343 can do something like that in the future. I don’t see why they couldn’t.

It would work, but populations would likely be minute.

I’ve been saying this since the times of Halo 3, and I simply can’t believe I’m going to say it again: Halo needs a DLC filter.

What I’m suggesting is a simply switch or slider in the game’s option menu that has three settings: Off, Lax, Strict.

Off: You don’t care at all if you play on DLC maps or not; the game works exactly like it does now. It’s the “I just want to play” setting.

Lax: The game tries to find and match together only players that have at least one map pack in common. However, this being the Lax setting, the game will match you with players who have different or no DLC once a certain amount of time has passed (e.g. 90 seconds). This ensures that you don’t have to wait too long when finding players, even at the cost that you might not get to play on a DLC map this time. It’s the “I’d love to play on a DLC map, but I rather play on a non-DLC map if I have to wait too long” setting.

Strict: The game only matches people together who have at least one map pack in common, regardless of how long it takes to do so. This ensures that you WILL play on a DLC map, even if it might - on occasion - take several minutes to find enough players. It’s the “I want to play on a DLC map no matter how long I have to wait” setting.

Knowing by now how well developers listen, I’m pretty sure I’ll be suggesting this same solution for Halo 5.

Whats a DLC?

> Whats a DLC?

Downloadable content such as Map packs, micro-items (skins and stuff) and mission packs

No way, I really didn’t think that would work…

And 6 most likely.

I like your idea though, could be good.

Why?

OT: A DLC filter would be great. Don’t most big shooters use them? I just always thought people didn’t buy Halo DLC.
