If I complete a challenge for the Tenrai event when I’ve already gotten everything from it, I should get Credits for it to spend in the store. Same with the Battle Pass after level 100. It’s such a simple system to reward players who are more invested in time than money.
If little Timmy wants to spend $40 to turn his spartan into a furry, let him, but do NOT make this the only option for players to get stuff in the store. Price reductions only make it more enticing for players who are already fine with spending money in the store on cosmetics, but not so much the rest of the playerbase.
I agree there should be more ways to earn credits for free however I disagree with your method. It needlessly complicates things and leaves the door open to exploitation which I think 343 wouldn’t like. For example I completed the battlepass months ago and if I continued levelling earning credits from it I’d probably be rich by now lol. Not to mention xp boosts or how you could spend credits to level up only to get them back.

Recent weekly ultimate rewards haven’t exactly been great leading to people not finding the motivation to grind it out each week. Because credits can lead to a purchase of something a player actually wants they will be more tempted to go for it.

Tying it to the weekly ultimate would mean 343 would have better control over it in terms of how much a player can amass over time unlike the method you suggested. Someone getting 1000 credits for 5 weeks of dedicated play isn’t unreasonable and would help resurrect the player count.
343 have already confirmed credits will be earnable through the battlepass for S2 but I expect it to only be enough for the next pass (1000) which doesn’t really resolve the issue people have. Buying credits should be for the impatient whales not us dedicated fans who will happily grind for them.

You’ll earn one credit for every twenty matches you complete from start to finish. Doesn’t count vs bot matches.

They ain’t giving us nothing for free, but headaches lol. They only gave people MP for free (to cash grab for customizations) because they would’ve destroyed Halo completely if they released the “full game” (LOL) for 60 bucks and this was the shape is was in lol, people just would’ve stopped buying it lol. A lot of people are only playing Halo now because they get free MP or free campaign with gamepass. I have many friends that still only play MCC and H5 and won’t buy or even play Infinite because of the shape its in.
