Credit System 2.0 and Armory 2.0 for Halo 4 (Updated)

Before Judging for the title Show Spoiler and Read

My view: I wasn’t happy with Reach’s Credit system were all you need to do is play (Trigger smashing FF or AFCing there to get the best results) and no skill needed to get the last rank, no challenge, no fun (Like CoD but more noobish). So for that reason alone <mark>I promise you that this IS NOT a ranking system idea, and cR won’t have affect on your rank at all.</mark> For those that have played Black Ops, they should know what the system is like.

Credit System 2.0
This new system should disencourage most things that makes the Reach system bad. like the game complete cR which encourages beeing afc and still get rewarded. In this system the only way to get cR will be playing the game. Bellow, there’s a table of how you get cR and how much you get (e.g a kill in slayer get you 30 cR; taken from the table bellow)

The new way to get cR:
In Competitive Matchmaking
-Get kills in slayer games -> One kill = 30 cR (Killing guests gets you 1/3 of that)
-Get kills in objective games -> One kill = 10 cR (Same as above)
-Play as a real objective player in objective games -> 1 Flag cap (medal) = 100 cR -> 1 second with/inside objective = 1 cR -> every seconds a bomb is planted ready to blow = 10 cR
-Get medals during games -> Any spree medal = 30 cR bonus, Style = 10 cR bonus, Multi = 20 cR bonus, Objective = 20 cR bonus Legendary = 150 cR
-Win games to get a bonus that losers won’t get -> Win = 200 cR

In Custom Games (Defaul Gametypes only)
-Get kills in slayer games -> One kill = 15 cR (Killing guests gets you 1/3 of that)
-Get kills in objective games -> One kill = 5 cR (Same as above so 2 cR)
-Play as a real objective player in objective games -> 1 Flag cap (medal) = 50 cR -> 2 seconds with/inside objective = 1 cR -> 2 second a bomb is planted ready to blow = 5 cR
-Get medals during games -> Any spree medal = 15 cR bonus, Style = 5 cR bonus, Multi = 10 cR bonus, Objective = 10 cR bonus Legendary = 75 cR
-Win games to get a bonus that losers won’t get -> Win = 100 cR

In Campaign
Game Complete Normal = 1000 cR (Cab be gotten only once)
Game Complete Heroic = 2000 cR (Same as above)
Game Complete Legendary = 4000 cR (Can be gotten once a day)
Game Complete Mythic = 20000 cR (Same as above)
One Mission on Legendary = 400 cR (One Mission per day)
One Mission on Mythic = 2000 cR (One Mission per day)
(If you beat the whole game in Legendary you add the ones above and get a total of = 6000 cR If you beat it in Mythic the first time = 26000 cR)

In Fireight (if it’s pure ODST style on heroic and if there’s one)

-Kill infantry → One kill = 1 cR
-Kill specialists → One kill = 3 cR
-Kill leaders → One kill = 5 cR
-Kill heros → One kill = 7 cR
-Kill light vehicles → One kill = 5 cR
-kill heavy vehcles → One kill 7 cR
-Survive Set one → One wave = 10 cR bonus. One round = 50 cR bonus. One Set = 150 cR bonus
-Survive set two → One wave = 20 cR bonus. One round = 100 cR bonues. One Set = 300 cR bonus
-The survive list goes on and on…
-Get medals → All but Legendary are worth 1/3 of the value of the Competitive matchmaking ones

How you don’t get cR:
You don’t do anything listed above desenrve nothing = 0 cR.

Armory 2.0

Like Halo 3 or Reach, nothing you buy will affect gameplay in competitive matchmaking, but there will be something for campaign. Bellow, there will be another list, but not with names of armor or anything like that. Instead it will be a simple list. To buy armor, you shoudn’t need to be a high rank, instead you should go for the armor you like, just look Reach, when most people got the armor or their dreams, the idea of buying armor is over, and now they go for everything but armor, so no rank requiered for any amrmor, achivements yes, but no competitive MP rank. For example Katana of something similar will requires 1000G and then you can use you cR to buy it.

-Helmets
-Left Shoulder
-Right Shoulder
-Chest
-Wrist
-Utility
-Visor Color
-Knee Guards
-Armor Effect
-Death Effect (Can be used along with armor effect)
-Multiplayer Voice
-Weapons (Visible in service record/lobby)
-Weapon Camo (Visivble in game)
-HUD Color (Visible to you and others in-game when picking a weapon up)
-HUD Style (Same as above)
-Silver Skulls (Campaign only)
-Place of Emblem

I don’t want Halo 4 to be based on this gimmick only, but also on proper skill based ranking system, and since this theard is not about that, tell me if something like this should be in Halo 4.

I like this idea. 343i should look into it. but I don’t think weapon camo is a good idea. What I’d like to see on a weapon is the emblem of the last player who used it. (visible when holding and not holding) also, it shows your emblem if you spawn with the weapon.

I feel these are great ideas that i agree on completly with because this is the right step forward in my opinion.

Wow, I like this idea. Specially the cR part, were you get less from killing a guest than waht you get for killing a normal player. Also the weapon camo idea is pretty cool, even though it’s straight from cod, but could also fit Halo since it doesn’t affect gameplay, and also because cod has also copied Halo :stuck_out_tongue:

343i should take ideas from this, after all, they do listen to their community.

The “Place of Emblem” idea from the OP could be this.

@pownyu I also like the idea of gaving your emblem in the gun(s) you spawn with.

Also yeah, like Knigh7 said, you could also pay to get your emblem in your weapon.

Good idea. THe weapon camo could go, but instead, it could be replaced by some action the spartan could perform while someone is viewing your record, like the motions they do when you level up.

Also individual colour customization. You should be able to individually change the colour of everything.

I don;t think we need a multiplayer voice…

I like the idea of making it so that people have to play to get cR (not just dying, dying and getting the reward for just dying), that adds a side of competition to the game which is good.

I also like the amount of cR you get for each objective of the gametype.

The armory is awesome, but I don’t know aout weapon camos, I don’t care.

Saving for the armor you want at the start of the game is also awesome, I personally saved for the most expensive thing of the armory first, and that’s something you should do with armor.

Silver Skulls are also cool, especially if you mostly play campaign, but <mark>I think that people that play offline should unlock those skulls by getting campaign achviements and not with cR.</mark>

If you want my opinion there should be no credit system.

I likw it, but I don’t think the game complete bonus should be entirely eradicated. I think players should get SOME kind of reward for dedication/not quitting. Really I think the easiest solution is to take the current cR system and have the game complete and performance bonus switch places.

We dont need these for Halo 4, they should come up with something more creative.

Wait, I think it would be cool if we had a credit system which we use to buy armor, but the ranking system to be based on Halo 3’s ranking. Also, there should be some armor in the armory which can only be unlocked by completing some achievements and perhaps some for specific ranks. Like, you reach General, you get a very special helmet.

The only problem with having a credit system is that it causes people to play matchmaking all the time and never play custom games (which is what made Halo 3 great) because they want to earn credits to buy armor and you don’t earn that many credits in custom games.

I don’t like the idea of a cR system. It made Reach focus on the Matchmaking aspect more then the custom games. I much rather prefer the 1-50 ranking system.

I like most of it, but not Weapon Camo.

Why? Because Halo is a tournament style shooter, you don’t choose what weapon you spawn with necessarily. Most weapons you have to pick up from the map while you play through, so the weapon camo idea wouldn’t really work.

The picking a service weapon record I like, though it could lead to some things such as showing off what weapon you prefer leading to both trolling and killing for weapons. It could also give away what your team roll is, overall I don’t think it’s a good idea.

As for Multiplayer voice, I’m gonna go off on a limb and say no. That’s more for firefight, and it could get very annoying very fast in multiplayer.

Silver skulls? No, and more no. You should have to find them in campaign like the rest of the skulls as is traditional with Halo…

I propose a hybrid of both. Have a separate ranking system along with a separate credit system.

No, no credits at all. Even for armor, switch back the achievement and task system.
