I feel like the cap on XP per day should be removed to allow people to level up as they wish I was able to hit 200,000 today and I wish to go farther on an eight-year-old game but I can’t. You should be able to level up as fast as you wish and removing the Would allow people to get to max level or still trying to get there without having to grind as much on the game that that is pretty much a dead population wise. 343 no longer make updates to the game unless it’s server maintenance or something completely breaks so we’re not going to ever get them to remove the credit cap cause it will just promote people to boost in the game. There’s no way that you’re constantly hitting the credit cap unless you are playing a certain playlist full of boosters or you play 100 matches per day and get an average of 2000 cr per match.

Uhhh hitting the cap every day is just dedication, you don’t need a team of boosters. The easiest way to reach 200k in a day would be firefight or grifball as it brings insane ammounts of cR the longer the game lasts.

I say both yes and no to this notion. Don’t get me wrong, I do respect your idea and opinions on this, so we can get that out of the way. In the current state of the way Halo: Reach is currently, with people violating Code of Conduct to essentially cheat via boosting cR, Commedations, and K/D Ratio (Statpadding) in Matchmaking Grifball, I say no to this idea, as it would further perpetuate the given issue at hand. Then Grifball matchmaking would turn into cheat central so to speak where that is all it would be and people who would want to legitimately play Grifball the way the developer intended and use the LIVE Services they pay for to do so would not be able to do so, as honestly, they should never have to take Grifball to Custom Games and go through the process of finding seven friends consistently.
Now, if 343i would find a way to resolve this cheating issue in Grifball Matchmaking, I can get onboard with this idea as then Grifball would no longer be exploited in such a fashion and sure, you can play as long as you like to legitimately earn cR and ingame status as intended by the develop in more or less any part of the game. Why not to that? I am sure many of us would like that. Playing Firefight Arcade nonstop as long as I am up for it sounds really fun and knowing that I would be rewarded for each full game, regardless of how long or how many number of games I played that day, that I enjoy playing as the developer intended from beginning to end without a cap sounds really, really good. Keep in mind Daily and Weekly challenges will add into cR payout, as well as the occasional 3,000+ cR from the Slot Machine and that is with any gametype, not just the gametype I like and used as an example.
The only reason I would see 343i saying no to this, other than the cheating issue at hand I mentioned which still needs to be fixed, is to prevent potential legal action, and what I mean by that is somebody playing the game for rediculously long periods of time with zero form of moderation or self-control with no cR cap and having a negative health effect occur as a result, or in an extreme case worse. Naturally if this were to occur, well you can imagine what may happen next. Yes the cR cap is meant to prevent cheating, but due to legal and health reasons, I do believe it exists for those reasons as well. I know the argument can be put out there about those MMORPGs run by other developers, however they have their own angle on the issue (As well as a legal team ready should what I mentioned above occurs) within their games. Think of the cR cap as moderation, not in a higher-up ‘Bigger brother’ sense, but a healthy sense so to speak.

You can easily do it by dedication don’t get me wrong I’ve hit the credit cap before multiple times from full days of Swat. For the average player they would have to play 100 matches a day to hit the cap as the average of cr bonus from a match is about 2000 when you get to a certain rank. As for you mentioning Grfiball that playlist is the main reason that the credit cap still exists. Grifball is full of boosters which is the “certain playlist” I was talking about. If they removed the credit cap alot more people would be sitting in grifball the entire day boosting their rank up.
Lizking also makes some very great points in his reply. I too could get behind the idea of them removing the credit cap but only if they removed the ability to farm/boost/peacematch from grifball as then everyone would actually be EARNING their rank by playing the game and not just standing around. (The reason I bolded earning is cause all those who peacematch/boost in grifball do not rightfully earn those credits in my and many other people’s eyes in this community.)

“On a game that is pretty much a dead population wise.”
Uuuh…do you even play Reach anymore? The population is far from dead. Just because some of the playlists have a population count of “0” doesn’t mean that is what it is. Since 343 isn’t working on Reach anymore, their servers don’t stay current so you can’t always believe what the population counter says. And from what it sounds like, more people are leaving Halo 5: Guardians and going back to Halo: Reach.
And no, I don’t feel like they should remove the credit cap. “without having to grind as much” You are basically saying you want to get the rewards without having to do as much work. If you don’t want to work for the rewards then you don’t really earn/deserve said rewards in my opinion. Also, as others have said, the credit cap prevents cR boosting. I can’t begin to count the times I have heard people recollect games they have played where the vast majority of the players just stood off in the corner for 95% of the match until like the very end to get large amounts of cR for basically sitting there doing nothing. If there was no credit cap, then it would only encourage more players to behave in such a manor. And in all honesty, if you are going to rank up in this manor then you shouldn’t be playing at all. Why play the game if you aren’t actually going to “play” the game?

you still have to earn the credits i never liked games that force you to play longer when you should not have to.

I guess you just decided to skip over blodhgarm’s point. “Also, as others have said, the credit cap prevents cR boosting. Why play the game if you aren’t actually going to “play” the game?” Again this is the main reason the credit cap will never go away. You do not EARN the credits from standing in the corner 95% of the game. Earn them from playing the game the way it was intended. The average player does not usually hit the credit cap so it’s 0 concern by 343 industries to remove or raise the cap.

So basically you are saying you want to play a game that just gives you everything and you don’t have to work for anything…am I right? Because that is how it sounds. You want to just boot up a game and be like, oh, here is everything cosmetic in the game. What is the point of even playing the game then? If you get everything without having to actually “play” and “work for it” then why bother? The whole cR system as well as the Armory gives players an incentive to keep playing the game.
And regardless, even if you were playing just to be good at the game, that still takes time. I personally could care less about having an amazing K/D ratio or being one of the top players because in my opinion, aiming to be the best at a game makes it more of a chore to play rather than actually being fun. I like having a system where you have to play for long periods of time to unlock stuff for your player, wither it is solely cosmetic or not. If they just gave you the Haunted Helmet for the hell of it without having to work for it, it wouldn’t be that special and everyone has it. But no, it’s an item you have to put in a lot of work for to get and that is what makes it all the more special when you unlock the item.

Also, you are saying you don’t like games that force you to play longer than you should. Well, let’s see. Let’s just say you want to get as much cR as you can…so you’d probably play something like Grifball. (I am not saying this is certain…just using it as an example.) So let’s say you only play Grifball and are finishing with the max cR turnout in a round seeing as apparently Grifball has a high turnout on cR. Wither or not there is a cR cap limit per day, you are still going to play the same amount of matches to get the max cR. Yea, with a cR cap, you will have to play for more days technically, but in the long run, you are still going to play for the same amount of time/matches to end up with the same amount of overall cR in the end.
If you are talking about not wanting to have to play “more days” then necessary, then you should say that because the way you make it sound; the cR cap makes you have to play “more matches” overall.
It’ll never happen sadly. I can still dream though

Bro… Just change your time zone from -12 to +13 hoursv, every time you reach 200.000 cR… That’s it…
And you guys… So many questions…
He just want to get Inheritor in a “legal” way. Who doesn’t?
Well… it’s legal. It’s not even cheating or boosting. It’s just being more clever than the ones who made the software forgetting some breach.
Have fun!
I know where you’re coming from on this but I feel that cap is more so for the players own good. Without a limit there’s gonna be that guy that’ll go day and night grinding and end up like the gaming cafe guy.
While on the other hand you got the Grifball farmers. Depending whether you consider it cheating or not removing the limit will at least initially blow up the Grifball farmer population. Although they’d probably go away faster as they will hit max rank or burn themselves out faster.

This is actually classed as boosting and can get your credit banned if the system picks up on it. I would advise against doing this or it will juset set you back further

Isn’t this also classified as a form of Network Manipulation, which is bannable beyond a cR ban, such as a game ban? BrianRS96’s explanation is essentially an exploit by manipulating the network by lying about your time zone for personal ingame gain in a fashion not intended by the developer with the intention to bypass or negate the cR cap in place. The only time a time zone should be changed for legitimate reasons is if somebody has gone into another time zone physically with their Xbox/Windows based system, or to correct an error if the system on it’s own incorrectly selects another time zone for one reason or another.
Yes I think you are right about that.
Usually necrothreads like these get locked immediately…as for the credit cap no, nothing is going to change. For the first couple years the game was out it was set at 60,000. Players that started after that point should consider themselves lucky that they are able to accrue 3.33 times more Cr than we day one players could.
