Creative ways to stop the spawn killing for good

I decided to turn this into its own topic just to see what people think about it. This same message was on another topic, and as I was writing this, I thought it would be interesting to see if people can come up with better ideas. Personally the Mercy rule idea sounds boring, however it should be put in arena, for the sake of those who have people quit their game. Having a 1v4 is not fun at all, so from here on out, I’m quitting 1v4 games. Anyway back to the post, tell me what you guys think of these ideas, maybe make your own and for the sake of those who are going to write down “Surrender option”. Please don’t, we all know about this by now and personally I don’t think it should be added. Not saying it’s a bad idea though, I just think there are more creative ideas then that.

I seriously don’t understand people that take this lightly.

“It’s part of the game, who cares?”
" So? It’s in every Halo game."
" It’s their choice, leave them be."

Obviously there is something wrong with the spawn killing picture right now, Something needs to be done about it. I’m not asking for mercy rules to be implemented or parties should be disabled for Warzone. What I do ask though is that something needs to be done about it.

  1. Reward the enemy team
What I suggest is that they make it the faster you destroy the core, the more req points you obtain. Some companies are just doing it for the points so maybe reward them for how fast they destroy the core. Maybe make it that it’s 10000 req points up until the 5 minute mark and each minute it goes down by 1000, eventually leaving it at 2000 Req points in total, just like a standard warzone game. It might not stop bad teams getting stomped on, however it might stop the spawn killing.

  2. More defenses for Homebase
Now what about fireteams that just do it intentionally for the spawn killing. Well I can’t really say much however I can suggest something for homebase. I honestly think that the Homebase should have way more defenses, such as Marines with more armor and CANNOT be headshotted. Not to mention letting them have power weapons such as Snipers or Saws. Maybe adding in automated turrets, if the core is exposed for more then 2-3 minutes, they upgrade to Gauss turrets.

  3. Make a stand
Another idea i thought of would make it that both sides can be even in firepower. Why add a mercy rule when you can make it that power weapons are unlimited when the core is exposed. Obviously it would have to be a set amount of time before this activates, maybe Palmer can say something like “Let’s spice things up a little, your team has unlimted access to power weapons” However the power weapons will stay with you until you leave the homebase, unless you have one in your collection then you will use it when you leave. Also the req level system is still in affect, maybe make it that it regens faster though.

  4. Your team has your own boss (My favorite idea)
This one might actually solve spawn killing. Let’s say that the core is exposed for 3 minutes and everyone is getting spawn killed. The all of a sudden your very own team boss is in the game to make a final stand. Now this could be controlled by AI OR the highest point player. Basically this boss will be like a legendary boss but if its defeated, it ends the game. In other words they cant just let it be.

These ideas may be somewhat flawed because they all float around the homebase. However some of these ideas could come into affect if the game was at a standstill. Maybe at a longer time limit. By standstill I mean that you have only captured one armory and you cant do anything else because the enemy team isn’t even bothering to capture it. Of course some people may exploit some of these ideas, but at least they might (hopefully) stop the spawn killing.

I should mention that the team bosses can be things like Mantises or Scorpions, hell even a Warthog. Just that they can’t be hijacked otherwise what’s the point?

These are great ideas, Especially the turret idea, makes sense, as seen in Halo wars

I like the base upgrade idea. Maybe the marines can be useful when defending the core.

I liked the ideas, making the base and the Marines stronger. The core could be self-destructive too.
I discussed it in my other post below.

I feel like their should be limits on how many Tanks, for example, can be on the field at any given point. Or maybe have vehicles spawn in the base periodically to give you a chance. Say if the other team spawns 5 tanks, your team will be “re-enforced” so you have a chance at standing your ground. I just feel like Warzone games become so unbalanced towards the end it becomes boring.

Agreeance with “SunnierGinger36” is unanimous

Base defenses sound cool, especially if you can upgrade them with communal req points

The fastest solution might be to just put energy shields in the pelican bays when your core is exposed. Just camp there until the enemy team gets bored because they’ve got no one to kill and has to destroy the core.

Then again there’s the possibility of the game going on endlessly, but nobody in the right mind would just stay in one game that long doing nothing for no reward
