You need to hit forum rank Marine to hyperlink.
ok that’s kind of ridiculous

No it’s not you just need to make like 150 posts to unlock the ability. It also prevents alternative accounts spamming the website with links.
Once you reach Marine, you can use this guide for posting links. I made it a while ago and forgot about it lol.
this is not fair. You have a community creations section, where people are asked to post their creations, but they must first participate to the level of spamming 150 posts just to get this status?
I guess your forum will miss out on the awesome stuff I was going to post.
Your loss! (not mine, and forgehub does not have this silly rule)

You can still share items in the community creations section, they just won’t be hyperlinked. They would look like this: google.com instead of this: google.com.
On top of this fact, our users here are typically more than happy to create links for you. For example, user JohannDB did this just the other day: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/92b5c5cfee994e7299608301a6b2eb11/topics/fury—a-halo-5-montage/927bc4ec-087a-448e-813f-0aa3bd8466dc/posts?page=1#post2

No, that’s how people get banned. Spamming is never the answer.

That sucks, but I want you to realize that it is you that is making the choice to not post your creations. Nobody on Waypoint is trying to prevent you from sharing.

Good luck posting your items to forgehub! Happy Haloing!
a forum where you need to ask for help to get something “shared”… do you know the definition of the word “Forum”?
(TO GET AROUND THE 5 post per day limit)
EDIT:
covermymeds, you can parse words all you like, but the simple reality is that this forum is far too strict if a user must post 150 comments before creating a hyperlink. that prevents THEM from sharing THEIR content in a section entitled “COMMUNITY CREATIONS”. That’s a huge problem.
this may not even post because I’ve posted 5 things in 24hrs…
that means…
150/5 = 30 days of posting five things a day, hopin that the 24hr cycle has reset itself when you need it to, and then finally, FINALLY you are treated like a first class citizen who cna post his/her own links.
WOW, That’s not how a forum is supposed to work. Especially not one with a sub-heading of “community creations”, where the explicit intent is for users to share their content with others.
Forum means a place for exchange, and this inhibits the free exchange of content, so it defeats the purpose of having it in the first place.
I’m so very sorry you cna’t understand this simple scenario.
And Zombie_stomp I was not talking to you, you misunderstood my comment.

You’re just hellbent on being unhappy here. Why did you put “shared” and “forum” in quotations? Is there no sharing going on? Is this not a forum? Are you implying sarcasm?
Do… you know the definition of forum? Merriam-Webster defines it as
> 1
> - the marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business - a public meeting place for open discussion - a medium (such as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas2
> - a judicial body or assembly3
> - a public meeting or lecture involving audience discussion - a program (as on radio or television) involving discussion of a problem usually by several authorities
I believe you implied the following inquiry

as a jest to me, but I don’t see how it’s applicable. Many forums thrive without all of their members having full functionality at the start. Unlocking features and abilities such as hyperlinking with time is a common, practical, accepted method of combatting spam.
As someone who has been a Waypoint user for a long time (not as long as others, granted) I may be somewhat biased here, but I believe the site accomplishes the following point/definition:
- a public meeting place for open discussionfine without everyone having the ability to hyperlink.
Oh and by the way, here’s the hyperlink to the source I quoted for the definition of forum: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/forum?utm_campaign=sd&utm_medium=serp&utm_source=jsonld

Yeah I do lol are we back in elementary school.
Was just wondering about how to hyperlink that’s all.
New to the site not halo.
Post quota for making hyoerlinks is 100 posts, not 150. You need to reach the rank of Marine. This forum may appear strict, but I can assure you this is lax compared to places I have moderated in the past. Doesn’t take long to reach 100 posts and, as noted above, you can still paste a text link in to share your content. Not the end of the world if it isn’t clickable straight away, most are happy to copy and paste
