Perk Argument!

I myself do not want to see such “Perks” that will change your weapon damage, or speed up your reload time. I think that when it comes to two players fighting, both players should have an EQUAL chance. That is what Halo has always been about …

But if you guys have been playing Battlefield 3, you will realize that it too also has some sort of “perks” system, but Dice have called it “Specializations”. They are;

- Sprint (Run at a faster pace)
- Ammo (additional ammo)
- Flak (reduces expl damage)
- Explosive (additional expl ammo)
- Cover (Reduce supp effect)
- Suppression (Greater supp on targets)
- Frag (addition Grenade’s)

Just thinking about it, they all have game changing effects, but still does not have an effect when it comes to a player fighting another. As long as the “perks” don’t effect how your weapon plays out, I will be entirely grateful.

Create Your Own!

Create your own “Perk”. If the thread lives and you have a good idea for one, I will post them below.

  • A chargeable Perk that allows you to jumper higher. (Crysis 2 Nanosuit)

  • Visor: show grenade trajectory. - II Naku II

Megaman
- Reduces damage heavily
-Umad??!**!

my god is it too much to ask for halo and not more cod features…

No.

Disabler: Disables all perks/ armour abilities/ loadouts in the game.

I do not want perks either. I just want Halo to be Halo … Halo 2 Halo if any.

But I was just mealy stating that if there is going to be perks, then add ones that don’t effect weapons in anyway.

I like this one the best

Visor: show grenade trajectory.

I do not think perks should give numerical advantages.

First perk unlocked.

> Disabler: Disables all perks/ armour abilities/ loadouts in the game.

Disabler Pro: Permanently disables perks/ armour abilities/ loadouts in every game any participants of your game will ever play ever. I would equip this perk and do a good deed every time I play Halo.

Those perks might come from the armor since they seem to be saying that the armor has an effect on gameplay.

If so I would expect guys in grenadier armor to have stronger grenades, those in scout or recon to have a longer line of sight and those with ODST to be able to survive higher fall heights.

I like the idea of some perks in the game, i’m just not too keen the idea of being more powerful than someone else, it will create huge imbalance and inequality which completely contradicts what Halo is so renown for, I don’t mind capacity upgrades and maybe different gun shapes, which would totally be an aesthetic. But being more powerful than someone else is too much.

I’d make a perk that cancels out all other perks and makes everyone on the map equal.

Mind= blown
Edit- my bad someone already beat me to that.

Exactly. When it comes to playing each other, we all should have an equal chance.

if that is the only perk, then sure

Balance: removes everyone elses perks.

None of them sound great to me …
