After the normal ending which is in this case it seems like Cortana has died in some sort of massive explosion, and the cheif had to escape to live.
The cheif returns to the area in a warthog, some few days later, and starts scavenging the wreckage. He starts to see Cortana (like in the cutscenes in Halo 3) and follows the trail until he finds her chip, flickering. He walks up cautiously, and Cortana’s hologram materialises, all disjointed coding, with her avatar totally broken. Cheif “Are you ok”. Cortana “No John, this is it for me, my life expectancy ran out long ago, time’s finally caught up to me”. Cheif “Is there anything we can do?” Cortana shakes her head slowly. (end normal ending) (cue legendary extra) and then stops, looks away, as if in thought. She then turns around again. Cortana “Unless, I have an idea. There isn’t much time. Lets move, we’re just getting started.”
Roll Credits.
After credits, extra scene rolls.
A battle scarred planet appears, a message on the bottom shows it as Sanghelios. Camera turns to the main military HQ. Elites are crowded around communication equipment. Then a video screen appears, the camera turns away from the video, no audio, just footage. The player can’t see the video, but the camera goes to an Elite standing in shadow. The video ends, and the elite steps out of shadow, revealing a battle worn Arbiter wearing some modified armour. He walks outside of the HQ, and the Arbiter stands on some sort of pedestal. He gazes past the camera, and in an angry and rough voice he shouts out “Brothers, we have much to do, prepare for WAR”. Camera then zooms out to reveal lines of fully armed Elites, who all roar in recognition.
End Game.
