The idea is to create an update centered around Master Chief and the original Halo games. This would include 2 classic armor sets, 3 new classic weapons (including free Halo 2 Battle Rifles for everyone) a new Warzone map based on that second level of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, and some new Wasp variants and a new Warzone Firefight variant to boot.
New Armor:
-Mark V Anniversary
-Mark VI Anniversary
These new armors would be ripped straight out of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2: Anniversary, respectively. The variations of Mark VI and Mark V Alpha already present in the game leave much to be desired in that they are less-than-faithful to the original designs, with some odd design choices made by 343i (like the colored bodysuits or the rounded shoulders on the Mark VI armor) that simply ruin the look of these classic armors.
The Anniversary versions would be 100% faithful to the designs in Halo: CEA and Halo 2: Anniversary, complete with unique matte-black bodysuits. What’s more, these armors would not be found in REQ packs; instead, you would unlock them by completing the Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 campaigns in the Master Chief collection on Heroic or harder. If you’ve already done that, you’d have these armors waiting for you the instant you download the update.
New Weapons:
-Halo 2 Battle Rifle FREE
-Halo 2 Submachine Gun FREE
-Anniversary Assault Rifle
-Anniversary Magnum
For starters, the Halo 2 Battle Rifle category in Warzone would be replaced with a “Classic Weapons” category for easy and convenient access to all of these weapons. Upon downloading the update, the Halo 2 Battle Rifle and Halo 2 SMG would be unlocked for free.
All of these weapons would follow the same design principles as the Halo 2 Battle Rifle; they would be identical to their vanilla counterparts, but with some minor improvements to set them apart. All of these weapons would be REQ Level 4.
The Halo 2 Submachine Gun uses the model from Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer. It does not have a Smart Scope, but has better hip-fire accuracy and bullet magnetism. The Anniversary Magnum uses the Halo: Reach model and the sound effects from Halo: CEA Magnum. It has a Classic Scope and slightly higher fire rate than the standard Magnum, but would kill in the same number of shots. The Anniversary Assault Rifle also uses the Halo: Reach model and the Halo: CEA sound effects, and comes with a 60 round magazine, increased fire rate, better hip-fire accuracy, and no smart-scope.
New Warzone Map:
-Landing on Installation 04
Map Landmarks:
-Red Spire
-Blue Spire
-Temple
-North Shrine
-South Shrine
Landing on Installation 04 is based on the second level of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign much like the Firefight map included in Halo: CEA. The bases on this map are Forerunner signal towers (like the one seen in the Installation 04 Firefight map) with smaller buildings surrounding them connected by an underground section just like the Halo: CE campaign.
Each base’s Core is located in the underground section, which would be inaccessible to vehicles… however, players would have an alternative means of damaging the core by attacking the Spire itself when Core Defenses are down; however, attacking the Spire at each base does half as much damage to the Core as attacking the Core directly.
The layout of the map would be similar to that second campaign mission from Halo: CE, with the two Spires situated at the head of the river and on the cliff’s edge. The center of the map would be dominated by a large Forerunner temple similar to the stone structures seen on Delta Halo. Instead of armories, there would be two smaller stone structures of the same architecture called “Shrines”; one in the North, one in the South. These Shrines would be defended by Sentinels instead of Prometheans, while Covenant forces would occupy the Temple.
Finally, this map would have a unique boss in the form of 343 Guilty Spark. He spawns at the Temple, is armed with a powerful beam laser, and is aided by Sentinels.
New Power Weapons:
-Sentinel Beam
-Gold Sentinel Beam
-The Monitor
For new power weapons, you get 3 Sentinel beam variants; the standard version, which is about as powerful as a SAW. The Gold variant fires a blue beam, does not overheat as quickly, and has more battery capacity. The Monitor is a Legendary Sentinel Beam that uses the same firing sound as 343 Guilty Spark’s eye laser, deals much more damage, but overheats faster.
New Vehicles:
-Anniversary Warthog
-Corporate Wasp
-Urban Wasp
-Woodland Wasp
-Tundra Wasp
-ONI Wasp
-Hannibal Wasp
For vehicles, the Wasp gets several new variants, include ONI and Hannibal versions… and you also get the Anniversary Warthog. This Legendary Warthog variant uses the Halo: Reach model and the sound effects from Halo: CEA. It is completely indestructible, grants increased damage resistance to the driver and gunner, and it’s chaingun does not overheat. The Anniversary Warthog is also immune to EMP effects and cannot be highjacked.
New Game Modes:
-Classic Slayer
-Classic Slayer BRs
-Warzone Score Attack
Classic Slayer would be include old-fashioned Halo multiplayer set on Forge remakes of classic maps like Damnation, Tombstone, Ivory Tower, Prisoner, Lockout, Beaver Creek, and more. In Classic Slayer, all Spartan Abilities are disabled and Motion Tracker range is set 25 meters. Players start with the Anniversary Assault Rifle and Anniversary Magnum in normal Classic Slayer, and the Halo 2 Battle Rifle and Halo 2 SMG in Classic Slayer BRs.
Warzone Score Attack is a single-player version of Warzone Firefight. In this version, the player is limited to 10 lives and respawn penalties are disabled. The difficulty and bosses would likewise be tweaked so that the gametype is better suited to a single player. On your own, you must survive 5 rounds of enemies, culminating in a boss fight in the final round. There are no time limits for each round; rounds end when all enemies have been eliminated.
Warzone Score Attack also has friendly AI in the form of Marines; the Marines can hop in vehicles with the player, like the Warthog, and respawn after each round. The Marines would have sufficient damage resistance to where you don’t have to worry about them dying immediately from the hordes of enemy AI.
Well, that’s all I got. I know that a lot of people would object to giving everyone the Halo 2 Battle Rifle if they already had to “earn” it for themselves… but I for one already have the Halo 2 Battle Rifle, and I think everyone should get the chance to play with this classic weapon in Warzone without having to grind REQ packs or spend a ridiculous amount of real cash.
Anyway, let me know what you think.
