My crazy theory is that Cheifs new AI friend could be Exuberant Witness. She could some how have been replicated or moved into a chip like Captain keys did with Cortana at the beginning of CE.
I think Exuberant Witness would be a great companion for Cheif. IMO she was one of the few bright spots in the H5 story and i hope to see her return in some way. Thoughts?
I don’t think either the fans or the Chief could deal with a new AI. My theory is in trying to undo Halo 4 and 5, Halsey gives Chief a New Cortana model like Cortana mentions in Halo 4. Still not sure if she’d be given the same memories or she’d have to create entirely new ones. Leaning towards the former.
Not many people know this, but Exuberant Waifu is actually the protagonist of Halo and it’s main character. Nothing else matters.

I believe its not her, in fact… I think Halo: Infinite is a reboot. I think its Cortana.

They would have used pink lights if it was Exuberant. 
I reckon its Cortana 2.0. Either Halsey got another clone or, she actually does it to herself. In Halo 4 they did talk about how they wanted to get to Halsey so that they could recompile Cortana’s neural matrix. This would let them heal the damage done to Cortana so she would go back to her old self.

I think one of the people said it was a sequel to Halo 5.

I prefer the latter.
My instant theory upon viewing the trailer was that it was another Cortana model.

I feel that’s what Halsey and the UNSC/Infinity would think is the best decision. The Master Chief has to work with a new Cortana, one who knows she isn’t the original and has a big name to live up to, against the original Cortana now driven rampant by her natural rampancy combined with her access to the Forerunner Domain. It would make for a very interesting relationship between characters as well as an interesting story dynamic overall. Don’t forget, the Cortana we currently know wasn’t even the first version of Cortana. Kalmiya was a Cortana prototype that was deactivated by Halsey on Reach.

Not a reboot. They said in the statement about the project on here this continues the story we have already seen with the Chief in Halo 5. My secret hope is MS convinced Staten to come back to 343i to take his baby back and fix the Halo story that was mangled since he left to work on Destiny.

I think that Cortana has the logic plague and somehow gets “cured” of it, and the logic plague caused her to get through rampancy. That means that Chief and Cortana would be back and they could save what Halo 5 did wrong.

Um last we saw, Cortana pretty much had control of all AIs in the galaxy and basically had guns pointed at everyone to be good. There would have to be a LOT of expanded universe explanation before Halo Infinite to have that be the same Cortana he puts in his AI slot and based on what we have seen recently with Halo 5, I suspect Halo Infinite will have less dependence on expanded universe content to make the game more generally accessible.
