Crawlers = Pheru?

Just an idea so no real spoilers really since the appearance of the Pheru was never really explained too well. That is what got me curious and keep in mind there are no spoilers since I don’t have any real evidence.

Now in Halo 4 we fight an enemy that was most likely modeled after something that was once organic. What animal could 343 bring back from it’s most recent revealments? Maybe the Crawlers were once Pheru or they’re just sentinel models made in the image of the Pheru? What other reason is there to make robots modeled after dog looking animals to inhabit a planet? Maybe the Composer was used to preserve them against the Flood??? Of course they needed to have not been on Charum Hakkor when the test fire of the halo happened…

It just feels like the Crawlers were once something organic, but not just any animal out there though. It had to have been a special animal. Perhaps being the first organic to be infected by the Flood would classify it as special in my opinion…and enough reason to preserve it and study it…

I have no evidence, but the fact that any good description was pretty much left out describing the Pheru, which to me caused some suspicion since everything in the Forerunner trilogy tends to have been very detailed so far.

What do you guys think?
Forerunners just made them look like that just for the fun of it or are/were they something more…

This is a pretty interesting theory. It would be a cool little gesture if they were. The Pheru was only briefly touched upon in Cryptum.

They must have been taken by the Forerunners and turned into weapons? I can’t imagine Humans and San’Shyuum keeping Promethean-class pets :stuck_out_tongue:

Interesting theory, i’d buy into it. I think it would make sense for Forerunners to base the design of some of their machinery/robotics off of living animals/organisms surrounding them.

it does make so sense but as chakas explained they were also they were greatly loved by humans.

This could be, but I always felt that the transformation described was similar to how the infection form looks. Just seemed more size appropriate. But Crawlers being a forunner model would be interesting :slight_smile:
