Crawlers don't crawl

Hey all I was wondering why crawlers don’t crawl on walls anymore

Enemy AI took a nose dive after complaints during Halo 4 about how “annoying” the prometheans are in combat.

crawlers no longer walk on other surfaces
Knights don’t teleport, quantum jump, or generate watchers
now they just walk/run in a set path and chance the player IF they get too close.

I miss Halo 4.

Well the problem with the halo 4 knights is that there was only one way to deal with them on legendary. Light Rifle spam. On top of that if they teleported their shields would re charge in the time it took them to teleport. So lower health, longer shield re charge times, and some indicator as to what direction they teleported to would have made them much more fun to fight in halo 4. Halo 5 added the shoot the glowey bits thing which was fun. Spawing watchers though was never a problem. Also the crawlers ability to walk up walls was also never a problem.

Honestly, it seems that no matter what 343 does to the Prometheans, the community will still hate them only because they are not the Flood.
If you really think about it, the Prometheans are just a re-skin of the Covenant that move faster and teleport into battle. The community seems to be afraid of enemies that are unfamiliar and unpredictable.

I do miss the Cralwers crawling everywhere. I thought that other then being animal like enemies was the the most unique thing about them.

Well, maybe watch and heal their allies while a battle is going on.

For real? Man, the Halo 4 Prometheans were such awesome enemies…

Exactly. They kept you on your toes since you couldn’t be sure how high they were.

The knights and crawlers in Halo 4 weren’t perfect but they behaved much more intelligently than the knights and crawlers do now.

They knew when to attack, when to retreat, could work as a team and were extreamly dangerous on any level of difficulty.

Halo 5 knights and crawlers just don’t do anything, and they were given health and damaged boosts to appear “better” but in the end they still don’t work well as enemies. Plus there is no challenge, it’s either rush in and get rickity-wrecked or find the exploit in picking them off outside of their attack range.

I’m kinda okay with that. Knights were blatantly overpowered and were tedious to fight, and since that was the backbone of the Promethean army in Halo 4, they shove like 5 of them at you at once.

So you spend tons of ammo shooting them to finally drop their shield, only for them to teleport away and regain their shield, now you’re back at Square One.

Fight them up close? One Shot Melee. Fight them at midrange? Teleporting Melee. Fight them at a distance? Incineration Cannon.

P.S: They can still jump, especially in Firefight.

Aaah I loved seeing them clamber all over walls and ceilings… Was such a shame to see that be dropped.
The Crawler Snipers though… I hated those things! DX

I thought that halo 5 knights were more of a sponge.

Promeantheans just aren’t fun to fight. They weren’t fun in H4 and they aren’t any better in H5. Hopefully they can end all these “created” stuff in outside media like they did all the stuff following H4 and then make H6 about fighting Covies and Brutes. As it should be.
