Crashing what feels like every hour. Happens during campaign and multiplayer even with a high-end setup with all drivers up-to-date and no anti-malware. If crashes can’t be fixed soon, at least add a re-join feature so I don’t leave my team and any challenge progress behind.
Additionally, there is another issue where objects/geometry in multiplayer maps stretch out and blocks visibility. The only way to bypass this bug is by ADSing, but that doesn’t help in close combat. This also occurs with some weapons, and when this does happen it completely blocks the bottom half of the screen.
Optimization is a must as well. Game can barely keep a stable 60fps with most of the graphics settings set to medium @ 1440p on a 3070ti/i7-9700k/32GB RAM.
The core game is great, but these issues seriously hinder the playing experience!

Texture/vertex corruption looking like surfaces going through objects is something I get after a while too. In the campaign though. Haven’t touched multiplayer. Submit tickets for all your issues and do yourself a favour and stop playing until they improve the performance. That’s what I’m doing. A shame cause I think the game as such is really good.

Pretty much did the same on my end, game runs horrendously on older AMD GPUs and they’ve refused to acknowledge it so I’m done playing until that changes.
To be fair and without knowing the details older hardware that perhaps don’t meet the requirements can’t be expected to perform very well if the expectation is to match let’s say a Series X or even One X. Not saying you are, but I interpret ‘older amd gpu’s’ as being too far behind in both feature sets and raw power.
What’s really troublesome is when hardware meeting or by far exceeding high-end requirements severely underperforms.

Oh no, the hardware I’m talking about is primarily RX 480s/580s and R9 Fury GPUs paired with Zen 1 CPUs and an OCed 2600k. Game performs the same on all systems, bad. As in a 1050ti outperforms them bad.

That’s within and even below (the 2600K even OCd is very lacking today) absolute minimum requirements though. Like the name suggests - a level needed to basically just run. Still a shame it doesn’t run very well within any of the categories, but I wouldn’t hold my breath over that range of hardware getting much better to be honest.
I know some have or had issues with only a couple of CPU cores/threads being utilized by the game so have you checked if the process affinity is at least using all of them?
Yep, it’s using all of them all right. I’ve compared benchmarks and CPU-Z scores between the minimum spec CPU (An i5 4440) and my overclocked 2600k (4.3 ghz, can go higher but need better cooling) and it outperforms it in single threaded and multithreaded benchmarks easily.
I’ve compared performance with my buddies on a ryzen 5 1600 and a ryzen 5 2600 and it’s come out virtually identical.

In addition, the minimum is an RX 470, it should not be a problem for 60fps low settings.

I recommend you using 75% render scale for a stable 100-120 depending on the environment. I have a 2080 and 3900X with 32gb of RAM too playing at 1440p.
My game keeps crashing as well, shotty registration of hits, driving and generally getting around. I also have a lot of errors connecting to MP which 343 has acknowledged is an issue.
Minimum GPU yes, but CPU wise if using a 2600K there could be a loss in performance due to older instruction sets. Over a i5 4400 it should have an edge in most cases although frequencies aren’t everything. If it should run 60fps on low however is rather subjective. Wouldn’t be surprised if it bottlenecks the GPU since it is a decade old. Only a quad core too. Point is that minimum requirements have no real guarantees when it comes to performance. The only promise for minimum specs is that they run the app in question. What resolution are you targeting?
You mean you have 75% of 1440p set? That’s 1080p in that case.
1080p, although I’d be happy if I could get 60fps in campaign at the lowest res scale.
In MP it’s 60 most of the time except on Highpower with res scaling.
See this thread for reference, it’s not an isolated situation: https://old.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/riz8oq/halo_infinite_campaign_horrible_performance_on_rx/strong text
I’m able to play Battlefield 2042 128 player MP with 45-55 FPS on the same system at 1600x900
Yeah no I’m aware of it’s performance in general. Just mean that expectations based on the requirements should be kept to - well - a minimum. What framerates are you getting at 720 and 1080 in the open world?
Gonna take a little while to get them to you, in a tabletop game atm but the tests will be at Camp Tremonious.
Okay, got some numbers. At Outpost Tremonious running around and looking at the crashed frigate I got:
1080p: 25-28fps
71% res scale (lowest possible, 768p) 28-29fps
CPU load through all this hovered around the 60-70% mark.
In reference to the settings the scaling is at 75% but my resolution is still set to 1440p
Yeah you should definitely be able to outperform a base Xbox One. Out of curiosity; Do you use the hardware accelerated GPU scheduling feature in Windows that came along around mid 2020? Disabling that back then at least usually ran most games a couple - 5 frames faster than having it enabled.
It’s under “graphics settings” at the bottom under “display settings” if you right-click the desktop.
Reboot after toggling. Not much, but could at least maybe lock it down to 30fps.
I was playing this game just fine from the multiplayer launch up until yesterday. Now, every time I try to launch the game it crashes a few seconds into the logo presentation. I have done everything, from updating graphics drivers, reinstalling Halo infinite, to even downloading and paying for a “PC fixer app.” Nothing has worked. I have no idea what 343 did to make the game not work on my system, but they need to go back and fix it. Judging by the recent reviews on the PC xbox app, I’m not the only one who suddenly can’t play the game.
I experience the same geometry stretching/corruption with my RTX 2070. Only way to fix it is restart the game and it happens often enough to bug me.
