Crappy matchmaking on modes i dont want to even play sums up infinite

halo objective modes requires lots of coordination. Youre forcing uncoordinated people who just want to play simple slayer into objective based modes.

Then theres the no radar or small (useless)radar that makes people even more uncoordinated. I like the challenge of no radar but ultimately it doesnt work in matchmaking for halos unique gameplay and entire population unless youre playing something like swat. Ranked arena should just be there for people to practice pro settings against other like minded people. There should be other ranked modes with a bigger radar. Now you have player choice and the right kind of people can choose their most compatible game modes which improves matchmaking.

Splitting up the playerbase into more playlists is fine. I played halo 5 throughout its life span and found matchmaking to be at its best with its lowest population because all that was left playing the modes where like minded people playing halo 5’s sweaty gameplay.

I honestly hate the radar. It trivializes good positioning by announcing your presence and makes up for player’s lack of awareness. If you don’t want to be surprised by enemies, pay attention. If you’re still surprised, you were simply outplayed. Halo shouldn’t just be a game about pointing and clicking at people because frankly aiming and movement in Halo are too limited for that.

Unfortunately for you, lots of people love it and not just because its a crutch, its just a fun mechanic. Anyway, thats not my point. I explain how there should be something for everyone so everyone can find the right homes and keep each other happy. it shouldnt matter if one playlist is being played more than another.

I misunderstood, I thought you were asking for radar in ranked as a standard. If there were specific game modes with radar on that’s fine (I wouldn’t mind it in FFA since positioning is kinda random anyways) but having it in ranked team game modes is a no-go for me

I like ranked with no radar too, but its important to weed out people who can only play good with a radar so matchmaking is better for everyone along with choice of modes.
