Craig Theory

Basically, Craig looks as deadpan as he does because he was drafted and just really doesnt want to be there and really just wants to go home
Thoughts?

If Grimbrother needed an excuse to make Craig canonical I think you just hit the nail on the head

Did you see how he sprinted towards the Chief? He was fast… If I was drafted and just wanted to go home my first instinct wouldn’t be to sprint directly to the Spartan who ended the Human-Covenant war. TO me, it sounds like this debate has a lot more angles that need to be taken into consideration.

Actually, he was super excited to meet the Master Chief, and it was only then he realized that things had to be this way. Chief had to defeat Craig to save humanity and that is why Craig is so sad :sob:

I really NEED and WANT lore of Craig and for him to be canonical, maybe even a little short story idk like in a digital comic or something, it could even be a comedy type short story of Craig and make it canon. Maybe even make Craig meet with Mister Chief, perfect duo? Maybe!

I hope Craig is in the game in a intelligent way. I miss the classic halo easter eggs, j hope they bring him back (like a very hidden shrine that you have to find a way to get it triggered)

Craig will be an unlockable firefight character. Don’t tell them you heard it from me… I’m from the future

Imagine a halo infinite firefight, where craig would be the boss battle.

This is a great theory.

Yeah he’s just dead inside, there’s no graphical changes to be done. Just leave him alone, people.

I’d be happy if he was similar to the monkeys in Halo 3. Just there and hilarious. and creepy…

While it is true that his face did not display the primal rage found in most brutes, one must acknowledge that he charged directly into the Master Chief. This displays poor survival instincts, or perhaps, something else. Brutes are vicious, and bloodthirsty, so it is no surprise that one would engage in combat so ferociously, but his face displays a lack of rage. These things conflict.

So, here is what I shall put forth. Craig was a brute of humble origins, who had a brute wife, and a brute daughter. He was conscripted by the prophets, for they knew the morale that would be instilled in combatants by having such a handsome and well mannered brute beside them. As he fought, Craig made friends with another Brute (whose me is unknown). All was well, until Craig received the devastating news that his wife and daughter had been killed in a raid by Kig-Yar pirates, after the fall of the Covenant. This lead Craig on a warpath, where he lost himself to his primal brute nature, and slaughtered the Kig-Yar pirates single handedly, avenging his family. But he was without purpose, and no revenge could fill his heart. This is when his friend, from the Covenant days came back to see Craig, and told him about a movement that could help him find his peace, known as “The Banished”. Having no where else to go, and with his friend being the last person he cared for, Craig solemnly went with him. Atriox, gladly accepted the legendary Craig, slayer of Kig-Yar into his ranks, though with some jealousy over his sculpted visage, and beautiful orange eyes. The brutes loved Craig, however, he found no peace. His mind always turning back towards his family. Only in the company of his friend could he genuinely laugh, and find some respite. But with his increase in popularity, Atriox took notice. While Atriox did not fear many things, he did fear the popularity of Craig, and the threat it may hold to his reign, coupled with his jealousy over Craig’s stoic visage lead him to make a decision. He approached Craig’s friend with a proposal: to join among the Brutes most honored warriors, and become a drop-trooper. Craig’s friend approached Craig with this excellent news, but Craig feared for his friend and so, sought out the council of Atriox. He asked Atriox to allow him to join his friend, to ensure his safety. Atriox allowed this, with a cruel smile growing across his face as Craig left (for he did not dare present his mirth in front of Craig’s might). Craig and his friend fought in many battles, and Craig ensured that he always landed first, so as to protect his friend. However, one fateful day, after the Banished seemingly had vanquished their enemies, Craig was called back into battle. As he was entering into his drop-pod, he saw his friend in his already, and watched in fear as his friend smiled and gave him a thumbs up, before the hatch closed, and his friend descended to the cruel hexagons below. Craig swiftly jumped into his drop pod, and pushed the button to drop. He fell swiftly, but he was too late. His friend had already landed. He desperately tried to break the door off of his pod upon landing, but it was still closed (brute safety protocol). He heard his friend scream “I’ll tear you apart” which drove Craig to punch at it the confines of his drop-pod, breaking it with his sheer might. With the door of the confounded machine open, he yelled to his friend telling him that he’s got him. But when looking around, he found himself face to face with the Demon, and the world seemed to slow as he gazed over at his friend, who was desperately attempting to rip a plasma grenade off of his chest, screaming in anguish. In that moment, when the last person he truly cared for died, many thoughts rushed through his head, and his head spun. Images of his wife, and daughter. Of his best friend. Of his many victories. His eyes met the harsh golden stare of the Demon’s visor. Thoughts of revenge fueled his thoughts, and memories of painting the walls of a corvette with the blood of Kig-Yar sprung into his mind, as he ran forward towards the demon. But as he did, other thoughts became clearer, pounding in his head like a drum. Even if he could slay the Demon, what then? He had no one. No more laughs or smiles. No more moments to share with those he cared for. These thoughts plagued his mind and shook his heart, causing him to stumble in his charge. As the pain in his leg settled, and his feet beat upon the ground, he found his conclusion. He lunged forward, and allowed the Demon an opening. As the Demon’s fist collided with Craig, he felt nothing. His rage had left him. No pain, no anger. Just finality. As he lay upon the ground, the soreness in his limbs subsided, as the blood pooled around him, and he choked on the air. With each labored breath, his noble, broken body became lighter, and lighter. He closed his eyes, his last breath leaving him. When next he opened his eyes, he found himself in a field of grain, his humble home in the distance. His wife and daughter stood by its gate, awaiting him with smiles upon their faces. He put a hand out, and lazily pushed it through the grain as he walked towards his family, a smile spreading across his face.

This is the only reasonable conjecture to make about Craig based on everything we know.

Wow that got long. Procrastination is a hell of a motivator, I suppose.

What if Arby doesn’t make an appearance and Craig fills Arby’s role?

Or like Halsey Lab or a secret detour and throws back to those monkeys in a crowd, all pointing to the shrine.

Write a dang Halo Novel about Craig.

There should be at least ONE craig reference in the finished game right?

He has PTSD
