Cracking down on Spoilers

I understand that i’m new on here and everything and theres plenty of posts giving the campaign away but I feel like there should be a rule about that. I casually scrolled down on a post skimming and read something I didn’t want to know about the story. It just killed alot for me because i’ve been doing well keeping away from the story spoilers so far. I think there should be a rule to note that you’re posting something spoiling the campaign and mods should fix posts that have Spoilers with a tag/tab or something.

They do,Some post before were locked and removed for revealing info.

If you knew it was about the campaign why did you keep reading it? I’m pretty sure they already do that as well.

If anyone needs to use a spoiler tag it’s 343 Industries themselves.

If you think that something is way too spoilery, report it.

This also includes -Yoink!-, content that promotes cheating or griefing, information about hacking or modding content on an Xbox console, <mark>spoilers (whether it be about Halo or any other game)</mark>, magazine scans, and leaked content, real or fake.

Keep in mind that there’s going to be some latitude. For example, I wouldn’t expect anyone to get banned for discussing Halo 3’s Legendary ending in the Halo 4 section.

Anytime on these forums, you take the risk of finding spoilers. It can suck, but that’s how it is.

I didn’t know it was about the campaign, the thread wasn’t even necessarily discussing the topic beforehand. Someone basically blurted out what I saw. It’s so unnecessary, but it’s just my opinion on the topic.

I figured that but didn’t expect them to be so…open

That’s kind of hard to do when the guy puts the spoiler in the title. For example, a little while back, a guy posted, “OMG! Arbiter confirmed!” (not necessarily exact words) right in the title. Thankfully, it was a fake.

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind, hopefully theres no run-ins again.

Definitely definitely definitely report threads with spoilers in the title, and threads with fake spoilers.

Sigh This is such a huge Derp on 343’s part. “Hey! We’re releasing this new game called Halo 4! You want more information! Okay! Here’s half the camapaign.”

I mean, what do the expect to accomplish by releasing ENTIRE MISSIONS?! I want details that won’t spoil the game! With this information floating around the Internet, anyone could just spoil the game for fun. I’ll probably have to go dark on the forums thanks to 343.

I agree just not in such a frustrated way. I would rather see more info on non-important components like Multiplayer and Forge. That way we get info but don’t spoil the plot. I refuse to purposely read anything about it. All I really know is who the new enemies are and I plan to keep it that way. I don’t NOT want to be able to come on here because of seeing the game ruined before I even play it just because some one on here wants to be lazy or a -Yoink- and not use a tag or something.
