Cowbellosseum; a map Ive been making since Halo 3!

TLDR: A fun little fast paced map to play with your Fireteam while waiting for others to join your Fireteam.

When Forge first came out in Halo 3, I wanted to make a Roman Coliseum styled Free-For-All map. So I designed a closed cylinder with teleporters that are linked to “prison cells.” Each Prison Cell has it’s own unique weapons and respawn point. All set to random respawn!

When Halo Reach came out, the Spartans had fall damage! I either couldn’t find out how to turn that off or didn’t look hard enough, so I had to make a work around with grav-lifts and one-way barriers. This is also when I introduced the “Cash and Prizes” room. Thanks to increased budget. An extra spawn room where a lucky person can get powerups, and Spartan Abilities. Where all the other Spartans would not have any thanks to changing the rules in the game variant. Vehicles were also accessible but hardly ever used. I also added the Soft Kill zones, so now there was an urgency to leave the prison cell you spawned into.

Halo 4’s Forge just built on top of Reach and made everything better and easier to work with. It even how trait volumes. Supply Drop Pods were added and allowed for an extra bonus in the arena for those still alive inside.

Halo 5’s Forge made things even better. With each game, came new weapons, and then with each update. Also seemed to bring new weapons. New weapons increased the prisons cells needed! It took a while to get the hang of this Forge. But I built my Roman Coliseum in no time! The update that brought the ability to change textures on generic pieces was amazing and it really let me bring it closer to my original vision 9 YEARS AGO. And with the Infection gametype added, I decided to make a “spooky” version of the map. When Warzone REQ weapons were added. I put them into the Cash and Prizes room and made it even more exciting for those that randomly spawn in there. Sometimes to the point that they get overwhelmed and don’t make it out! I did removed the vehicles from this version of my map. I felt that they would just slow down the pace. Unfortunately, 343i removed several of the gametypes that I implemented into REACH and 4’s Coliseum, so I just left it solely as Free-For-All and Infection.

Roman Coliseum styled map. Individual, safe spawn points each with a unique weapon. Inside a soft kill zone. So grab your weapon and head towards the barrier to teleport out to the main area. Cash and Prizes room is set to random respawn like the prison cells. It also has a soft kill zone. So you only have 10 seconds to grab what you can and head for the teleporter :hint: there is a big exit sign in the corner

Plays exactly like regular Cowbellosseum, except with a darker, “spooky” ambience. Crumbled structure allows for slightly varied terrain and torch provides for an environmental hazard

Standard Free-For-All Gametype with slight modifications
Increased grenade holding 2 to 6 for each type as some Prison Cells are just one type of grenade
Instant Respawn
No Suicide Penalty - which could happen all the time in soft kill zones like the prison cells and cash and prizes room
Default Weapons: Primary- Magnum, Default ammo amount Secondary - None
No Starting Grenades

Standard Infection with modified rules to make things more interesting with being in such a confined space while non-infected can get all power weapons
Infected can pick up grenades, up to 6 each. But the damage is reduced to be more of a distraction.
Infected can pick up powerups, if they spawn in the Cash and Prizes room only
Alpha Zombie has 2 thrusts to aid in the initial 2 vs 14 out in the open scariness
Alpha Zombie can use Ground Pound to reach the arena floor quicker. It is reduced damage but increased decent speed and knock back.
Survivors have standard traits
Last Man Standing has Thrusters increased to 2
Last Man Standing has Shield increased to 500% but recharge rate is still at 100%

A lot of my friends are playing other games, but the ones I did play with enjoyed it as well.
