I think a good addition for halo 4 would quickly double-tap the crouch button, and then you would snap behind it into a third person mode.

crouching is good enough
I respectfully disagree. I hate cover systems. I can hide behind an object without needing a function programmed into the game.
It definitely isn’t needed. Either way, it would completely change the game, and not necessarily for the better.

Nope, I really love Gears of War, but Halo should stay Halo.
no it isn’t needed but it wouldn’t harm and would be realy cool! The only problem would be with teabagging.

double tapping the crouch button because you want to take a pot shot, then snapping to cover on legendary and stuck in the clunky-ness with an enemy rushing you would really make me rage…
No thank you. Cover systems only (properly) work in TPS games like Gears. When it’s a FPS, it just makes the game feel clunky and cumbersome. I don’t wanna see Master Chief in 3rd person unless you’re driving a vehicle or in assassination (if they keep that)
We don’t need a cover function or whatever but also wouldn’t that mess up aiming
Good idea, but too much like GoW. I think Halo needs changes, but not quite like this.
You could take a turret into third person and hide behind cover that’s close enough, right?
i always thought Halo should have some kind of cover system, but i do not support this specific one. A good cover system shouldnt change gameplay mechanics.

Yeah, it is.
There already is a cover system. It is called walking behind an object that can’t be shot through. Which is, about everything.
