In the halo 5 midship map a hologram of the prophet of truth was speaking in alien language. From this I am sure that the covenant won’t speak english if they appear in Halo 5. Other than the arbiter, and his covenant.
The prophet in the hologram was during the events of Halo 2, and they spoke english, but yeah i agree with you that they probably won’t speak english
Well seeing as how one of the main characters in the game is an Elite (Arbiter) and we have already seen Halo 5 Elites speaking English (Halo 2A cut scenes) then yes they will speak English.
Edit: Oh Jul’s Covenant you mean, nevermind. But they might still speak it, who knows.
On Spartan Ops they didn’t speak English. Loved their language though
Normally, Cortana’s translate software make MC understand Covies, but in H4, we canot understand them! Why? Is it because Cortana is getting crazy?
Well, in H5, as there won’t be Cortana, it will be logical that aliens won’t speak our langage.

True, true. But take note that we’re gonna play as Locke in some missions (not all the time), so we might hear some covies speak some English. Don’t give up on hope yet. Just give up hope on the MCC until the “big” patch comes out.

But remember the Arbiter’s Sword of Sangheilios Elites in H2A were talking to Locke, not to each other. They may well speak English when addressing humans, but when in battle or talking amongst themselves, they probably speak Sangheili.
That seems like a realistic way for H5G to handle Elites speaking.
Some might some might not. On halo 4, Jul 'Mdama said the word ‘progress’ that counts I guess.

Jul had studied human language during his time in prison on Trevelyan where he decided to play along with human nuisances in order to eventually seize the opportunity to escape. Although he despises mankind he can somewhat speak the English language.

actually the map is set during the discovery of the first Halo (so it’s Halo CE. Evident by the Sprint vidocs when they discussed the setting, plus the Prophet’s Bane is said to be Thel’s blade, meaning it’s Arbiter’s ship back when he controlled the Fleet of the Particular Justice) which was back before they were translated.
I hope 343 will make them speak english, for the fans
