We need the Type-25 directed energy rifle, Type-31 needle rifle, Type-33 light anti-armour weapon, Type-50 sniper rifle system, Type-52 special applications weapons back!
I had so much fun with those weapons in the first 3 Halo games (and much grief too (Type-50) but wouldn’t change it for the world!).
I do miss the Plasma Rifle.
While I do see the Fuel Rod returning, and maybe the Focus Rifle depending on how the Stalker Rifle functions, I just don’t think the Plasma Rifle, Beam Rifle, and Needle Rifle are set to return any time soon. The Needle Rifle steps too much on the toes of the BR and especially the Commando in terms of base functionality, the Beam Rifle might as well be a reskin of the Sniper, the two are so similar it’s just redundant. The Plasma Rifle is an interesting case though, I feel like there could be a place for it, if it was designed to have more accuracy so it can fill that void of range between close and mid where the Pulse Carbine is simply useless. But the Plasma Pistol semi-auto fire already does respectable enough damage that without a nerf to the PP to the point that it’s overcharge is the only thing about it really worth using (as in Halo 2 and 3) it also wouldn’t really fit in that well as the PP already does what the PR can do.
The covenant are no more. Their production has ceased, and what remains was hoarded by the banished to be reassembled into improved and more brutal weapons and technology. I welcome new weapon designs to cover the redundancy of the previous ones.
I have a feeling the ‘Stalker rifle’ is going to be something between the BR and the Sniper rifle, something functionally new that could fill in where the beam rifle failed at being different and better in terms of power than a dmr but not capable of a one shot headshot like the sniper.
As for the plasma rifle… meh. We’ve got the pulse carbine now, which is far better than the plasma rifle was.
Needle rifle… well, we have the stalker rifle now, so probably not.
Fuel rod cannon… well, we have the ravager, the spnkr, the hydra, and the skewer. Fuel rod needs tweaking to give it a purposeful existence that isn’t already covered by these weapons. I’d bet we will see it though, long as the hunter cannons still have a fire mode that works like the fuel rod because it’s already in the game.
Focus rifle? More like sentinel beam. We know that’s in the game, and I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason it existed in Reach was because the sentinel beam did not.

Bungie mostly added the Covenant Carbine and the Beam Rifle for the Covenant enemies in campaign, their ranged game suck in Combat Evolved.
But if the Banished are still scavengers, UNSC weapons can be given to them (at the same time removing a convenient part of the Flood if they come back) ,
