Covenant Weaponry

I have a feeling you’ll probably disagree with me, but shouldnt it be WAY more powerful than any UNSC weapons? I mean for peetsake your shooting liquifying plasma at a person. And what on earth has happened to that cool dripping looking effect from ODST?

I know for balance sake the weapons have to be fair, which they arent exactly atm… -cough- dmr…-cough- >.> but in all honesty if you’ve read the books it’ll say that even underneath the armor the plasma was prickling their skin from the intense heat.

And I have not a clue how promethean weaponry would work :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe their weaponry is digital based.

Because the Prometheans are digital and their weaponry doesn’t take any physical ammunition. Look at the Scattershot reload animation, it looks like you are pressing a switch on one of the games many consoles. The name “Binary” rifle also tips me into my thinking.

Just a theory.

Their weapons shoot bolts of hard-light. Technically it should be practically hit-scan, and tear you to swiss cheese.

But, balance.

the bolts could be weakened by the fact that they are not physically connected to the gun
meaning, they don’t have the power to deal said amount of damage

and the reason it’s not a hardlight “beam” is because it would require too much power to stablise a beam like that…

It’s science fiction. We have ancient robots powered by human souls, weapons that can kill everything in the galaxy, and solid objects made out of light photons.

Anything can happen and it doesn’t need to follow the laws of physics.

Promethean weapons use hardlight as their projectiles. I’m not exactly sure how hardlight is created or generated, but I assume its like a hologram, except solidified like the holographic bridges you often walk across in forerunner and covenant structures.

I primarily use the covenant weaponry in halo 4, it seems more efficient with me, it’s all equal, but not having to reload is kinda awesome if you know how to use the weapon right.

According to science, these are all possible

> ancient robots powered by human souls

i don’t recall them being powered by souls , but the forerunners could have the ability to use the brain of a human to be the “brain” for a promethian

they might have the technology to replicate DNA, thus recreating a human brain from small remains from a human

> weapons that can kill everything in the galaxy

finding a certain energy type that destroys biological matter, but keeps inanimate matter intact can’t be that hard… can it?
we already have the EM spectrum…

> solid objects made out of light photons

Light has mass, the forerunners might have found a way to condense that mass into a single space, while removing the radiant energy that light produces to a high amount

:T

Science!!!

Lol

this thread is great. I’ve never felt so schooled and it’s awesome.
