So as shown there are 2 new vehicles/boss in the next halo 5 update. I really enjoy warzone. I do like the new grunt goblin. But it’s not that threatening. What a covenant boss should look like is a Scarab or something of that size and deals that kind of damage. I see the update they are coming out with as a opportunity to being new creative or returning fan favorite stuff into halo 5’s biggest game mode.
I’ll wait until I fight against it to pass judgement. Lore wise, I just want to know where the grunts got that technology. It has the classic Covenant design during the Human-Covenant War.
I would have liked to see Brutes make a return as enemies in Firefight seeming that Halo Wars 2 beta was going on, so having the Brutes as the main “Covenant” (Seriously, what do we call the aliens now? The Covenant was pretty much destroyed on Sanghelios). Fighting against Chieftains and Jetpack Brutes as enemies. It would have been a really cool addition.
But something tells me that the Brutes will make a large return in Halo 6 as the leading alien threat aside from Cortana’s Created army.

We already know where they got it.
In a recent Canon Fodder and Community Update, they included a couple of passages about it. Basically the Grunts joined the Created, the Created gave supplies and technology to the Grunts, and helped them restart their manufacturing facilities on their homeplanet. Using knowledge they gained from the war, they began building stuff. The Goblin is a vehicle made “By Grunts, For Grunts”.
A double barrel needler that locks on to eight Spartans is pretty tough sounding to me!
