Covenant species as armor cores

Ok this is a later season suggestion, but can we have the ability to play as jackals and sanghelli in Multi player.

Now this would be done via armor cores, each having their own customization and unique looks. both would have unique spartan armor that the in game enemies don’t have with the lore idea being the UNSC opening up the spartan program to none humans do to the created war.

As for my species recomendations, both are about the same size as a human so most equipment wouldn’t have to change. Jackals while pirates of nature are known to be loyal to whoever they follow. While sanghelli are already cross trained with spartans it wouldn’t be to much to say a few get into a new cross species spartan program.

Lore of the suggestion

Kig-Yar spartan
Do to the war with the created the UNSC has opened the spartan program to other species, The Kig-Yar being and interesting one as direct ONI orders where given on them, only female Kig-Yar are allowed in and even they have to go through rigorous testing to see if they will serve the UNSC, so far only a couple dozen haf passed, including a skirmisher ship mistress.

Armor core
the Kig-Yar armor core was designed from the ground up for their frail bodies reinforced with unique hydrophilic systems and flexible plates it is slightly less durable then a standard mark VII. And most Kig-Yar complain about the lack of a default shield gauntlet, though those complaints quickly die down after a few live fire tests of the shields.

============

Sanghelli spartan
In the years following the human covenant war many Sanghelli groups have worked to create bonds between them and humanity. The new cross species branch of the spartans is a sign of that forming trust. Sanghelli warriors looking to test their metal or their honor have been quick to sign up, though rigorous testing is still applied to make sure none will sabotage the UNSC.

Armor core
The Elite core, is one of the most advanced spartan tech suits out there designed by both sanghelli artisans and human engineers, with Huragok refinement. That said most sanghelli do complain about the weaker shields then some of their more advanced harnesses. All that said an Elite in spartan armor is something to fear on the battlefield, there have even been stories of one dual wielding spnkrs.

I’ve never clicked on something so fast.

I think you’re on to something here. I think these are a great idea. I could see Sanghelli inspired armor like Helioskrill. And that being a main component/cannon. And then if they want to get more crazy, fracture events are a perfect place to do this.

I would like to see something done for the Grunts, those little guys deserve it.

…Or Covenant/Banished species have their own cores separate from that of the Spartans:

For example, the Elites could have the Justice, Hierophant and Schism cores.

Justice - Combat, Defence and Specialist (all from Halo CE), Filter, Councillor, Guardsman and Ranger (all from Halo 2), Supremacist (Supreme Commander armour from the graphic novel), Shadow (Silent Shadow)

Hierophant - all the Halo Reach Elite armours but interchangeable for the first time and named by armour rather than rank E.g. ‘Infiltration’ rather than ‘Spec Ops’.

Schism - Combat (Schism), Assault, Flight, Ascetic, Commando, Arbiter, Kaidon (H2A prologue/epilogue armour), Hunter (from Hunters in the Dark)

They could also have a Storm core based on the Halo 4 and 5 armour.

For Brutes, they could go with cores: Rukt (Halo 2 variants and Chieftain from Halo Wars), Loyalist (Halo 3), Hierophant (Halo Reach) and Banished (Infinite and Wars)

And so on and so forth… There’s plenty of armour to go around. These cores could really inspire an enormous range of unique and memorable armour variants within alien “body types”.

I just hope they do something for the Grunts, those guys deserve it.

Grunts are a bit of a pain though, more for balance reasons, they are short, can jump high, oh and canonicly can punch a hole in a tank with out power armor, just imagine one in power armor.

well, that wuld be one of the most awesome things ever seen in fiction

And thus it is how we got the grunt goblin.

I would like to point out, I don’t think having different playable species is in the cards. When I think about these armors, I think INSPIRED cores. Like a Banished inspired Spartan core. Or for a Grunt one, the big methane tank and a rebreather.

IT would be painfully easy to make a brute or elite species spartan core that is actually one of them.

but yeah inspired ones would work nice as well.

Would love to see a spartan going around in obviously sanghelli made armor.

I too would prefer to have them just be Covenant/Banished, rather than some silly iteration of an alien Spartan just as you suggested. The additional Phenotypes you suggested are also something I would love, having the R’thol and Vheiloth Jiralhanae, the H2 and H3 phenotypes, along with the unnamed Hierophant and Banished phenotypes you designated from Reach and Wars 2/Infinite.
Same goes for the Sangheili as well, having all the phenotypes and armor sets for all the species since CE would be a dream, but it would strain development beyond reason much to my dismay. Alas I’d still love to see all the Ruuhtian, T’vaoan, and Ibie’shan armors side by side, and even have the ability to customize the physical appearance of the Kig-Yar themselves, like eye and feather/quill color, male and female models, etc.

You might be onto something… I’m here for this.

I don’t see a need for them to be included in the Spartan program for a long list of obvious reasons. But I see a great idea to later include different playable races for custom games with their core armor system.

Well the main reason I put elites in the spartan program in the idea is well in 4 and 5 it is already stated they are cross trained and in the spartan program but we never see it.

They really do cooperate in military intelligence and investigation, but behind the curtain there is always the ONI causing the Elites to be in civil wars with each other. They are not seen as allies, but as potential enemies. Sad but true.

My god, yes, if we can cosplay as Jorge, why can’t we cosplay Arbiter?

Huh? Alien Spartan? I’m not the one who said that.

ONI sees everything as potential enemies, ONI is one of the post war bad guys for a reason.

What I meant by “as you suggested,” I was referring to your proposal as opposed to the Spartan idea made by the OP. Notice I said “rather than.”

I have to say I was thinking from a lore prespective personally I would love to have 3 types of elite.

covenant armor theme, spartan program themed, and the arbiter as a unique core.
