Today I’ll be covering the most notorious and most powerful Covenant Remnants groups in the post-war era: Jul 'Mdama’s Covenant faction. It was formed on the Sangheili colony world of Hesduros by Shipmaster Jul 'Mdama after hearing of his wife’s death during the Sangheili civil war of 2553. During the next couple of years his faction has absorbed what remains of Merg Vol’s forces and build up into a large Covenant fleet. His group participated in many post-war engagements since 2554 such as the Battle of Installation 03, the First Battle of Requiem, the New Phoenix Incident, and most notably the Requiem Campaign which resulted in converting Dr Halsey into his faction and the destruction of Requiem. The lost of the shield world resulted in a brief rebellion among Jul’s Covenant, led by a Zealot Sali 'Nyon on the planet of Aktis IV. Jul was able to crush this uprising and capture Sali as well as acquiring the other half of the Janus Key, a map of every piece of Forerunner artifacts in the galaxy. With the aid of Dr Halsey Jul’s fleet found the Absolute Record, a powerful Forerunner site where he found a Contender class ancilla. After the events of the Absolute Record, Jul diverted his attention from fighting the UNSC into waging war on the Swords of Sanghelios over control over Sanghelios. However, as the tides of war turned against Jul his forces began undermining his authority such as speaking English instead of the traditional Sangheili dialect. On October 27, 2558 his forces attempted to assassinated the Arbiter Thel 'Vadam in an ancient Sangheili ruins known as the Elder Council Chamber. This attempt however was foiled with the intervention of Spartan Fireteam Osiris. Immediately afterwards, the Swords of Sanghelios launched a counterattack on the Covenant’s final stronghold on Sanghelios: Sunaion. As always, please comment and like this if you enjoyed this article
